Comments about Washburn RO5 Minstrel Dulcimer:
Stick dulcimers (generic for Strumstic, Minstrel Dulcimer, Walkabout Dulcimer)are VERY easy and fun to play and I would encourage everyone to give one a whirl. They truly are suitable for beginner to advanced players.I bought a used one but the ratings above are written as though it were new. I marked features lower because:1) strap is a string. I like straps. I replaced my stringy strap with a gym bag shoulder strap (it was narrow black nylon). It works great and fits in the awesome case.2)strings aren't pegged they're "pinned" with brads like the McNally strumstick. It works, but there must be a better way.The bridge was low and there was some buzz and intonation problems because of it. I shimmed it with 3 guitar picks and it works great.McNally strumsticks are easier to hold (even without a strap) but they have a different sound. Not bad but different. I prefer the range of noises I can get from the R05 that I couldn't with the Strumstick.
