Comments about Mighty Mite MM2700A Stratocaster Replacement Body - Unfinished:
A body is a body is a body...to a certain extent. Yeah, that is a fairly vague statement but relevant. If you want to build a "Strat" type guitar you can. It isn't that hard with some very basic skills. Most of the skill stuff is wood-FINISHING. These bodies are quite satisfactory, decent wood quality, decent production quality. Many are not really good enough for a clear or transparent finish of any kind. Some are but you won't know until it is in your hands. All are quite nice for any solid color finish. Getting an authentic vintage finish using nitrocellulose lacquer is not difficult but it does take time and I mean it takes at least a month to do correctly. Yep, a month, at least. If you want to shoot a nice acrylic or a urethane finish you might as well just buy a used Squier and use it for parts, it will be a better finish than you will do and you will have a neck too for not much more than the price of a finished body. If you want to do a nice nitro finish I recommend you go to reranch.com and start doing your homework until you really know what to do and how to do it. Yep, a month, at least. But these are nice bodies for solid finishes and they sound very nice when you get it all done.
