Comments about Dava Grip Tips Nylon Medium 6-Pack:

I first ran into dava grip picks at a local music store and bought the regular plastic pick (not the delrin or nylon). The rubber grip kept sticking on strings when I was aggressively picking so I took an exacto knife and cut the tip of the rubber grip about 5mm from the pointed part and never had another problem. The only thing I didn't like about it was it wore out too fast. I would have to put a new point on it every other day and it got too rounded out after a week.
I then bought the nylon picks and have really loved them except that it's harder to pick squeak with them so I just ordered another batch of the delrin grip picks after reading on article on nylon vs. delrin for toughness. Apparently delrin is a tougher plastic so when I get these picks and torture them and write a review on them.

Comments about Dava Grip Tips Nylon Medium 6-Pack:

I just got the Dava multi-pack in the mail today, and this pick has to be my favorite of all of them. The original Dava Control has been my favorite pick for quite some time, but I think I'm starting to like this one more. The tip is nice and sharp, making pinch harmonics effortless, and it glides over the strings very quickly and smoothly. I thought the rubber grip would be kind of uncomfortable, but it's great, and I'm pretty confident that I'll never drop it. The one thing I don't understand is how they can incorporate a rubber grip onto a nylon pick, and still have it more lightweight than the Jazz picks I'm used to using. There is no weight to the thing. It makes it easier than ever to play fast runs. Now, this pick won't make you an amazing guitarist, but no pick will. It's just much more comfortable and smooth to play with. I've read reviews of people saying that the rubber catches on the strings and gets torn, or slows you down, but that is just not the case. First off, you should be playing with the tip, not the rubber. But if you happen to pick with a little bit of the grip by mistake, it glides right off the string. You almost can't even tell. I can't wait to try the gel Grip Tips. Overall, these are a little pricey, but very well worth the extra money.
