This is the best straplock design ever. You can remove the strap and put it on in a second or two, and you don't have to keep the strap attached to the guitar while in the case like other straplocks. I play a very heavy Les Paul copy and no longer have to curl my body over while playing so as to catch my guitar if it falls!

Tried it on an Ibanez RG2550Z (last year's model). You can barely put it on; the button head on the guitar is about 17-18mm, but the widest part of the strap holder is 17mm (the narrow is 10mm). Trying in an angle I finally managed to get it on, but there's not enough freedom of movement and I couldn't quite get it to sit right.

I removed right away, and noticed it left some rubber on the guitar. Maybe it's because I had to struggle to put it on, but it doesn't look like the right choice of material.

Summary:

* The locking mechanism looks nice (assuming it's durable, which I didn't test).
* It didn't fit my guitar because of the 17mm opening and because the holders are bulky thickness-wise.
* The rubber on the internal side isn't durable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The plastic end holding the strap broke in the middle of a performance. Only quick reflexes kept the guitar from hitting the stage floor. Can't recommend this at all.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The only problems i can see for this locking device are as follows. 1) the size of the strap button 2) the position of the button where the neck joins the upper bout of the guitar. Most standard size buttons will work. As far as the position goes, if the neck button is mounted too close to the upper bout you might not be able to get the strap end over the button far enough to operate the closure wheel. It worked fine on my Martin d18 and my les Paul. I moved the upper button on my Crozier guitar and its works fine.

Great Strap, Make Sure It Fits Your Strap Lock Flange

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I own two of these and they work great. However, my Telecaster has an oversized flange on the mounted strap-lock pegs and this strap and all locking straps that I have tried will not fit over the flange. You can file the slip-lock, slide piece to increase the diameter if that is what you desire. Then it will work. These are not complicated to use, the "gear" side tightens, the "tab" releases. That's it.

It was amazing for about 6 months. Then, before a gig, the plastic just burst and left me strapless.
So, grab two. Have one for a backup. The design is great. The plastic can't keep up.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

This strap took me awhile to figure out how to use it. There is a release/tighten lock to be manipulated. The store display hangar that must be removed and disgarded makes this action not obvious. I love this strap when combined with a guitar strap pad. Then, it is comfortable on your shoulder. Many electric guitars are getting heavy now, 9 pounds. Example: b bender guitars. This strap will not work on an acoustic guitar with large strap attachments. Example: acoustics with electric female end cable receptacles. The strap mount is too small a hole to fit over the large end attachment. Thus, this product is good for electric guitars when combined with a strap pad. Forget those wide and expensive leather straps.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I have five of these now. Holds my guitars securely. Got my first one a few years ago and it's still holding up just fine.

Only issue I have is they are short, which is the reason for four stars. Could use another 6-12". Hard to complain for the price, but they really could use more length.

FYI, does not work on a guitar with a Bigsby. The tail piece get in the way.

I bought this strap for my 10 yr old son. He was using just a cheap-o strap that had a habit of slipping off the strap posts so this was perfect for him. He's had no problems removing or putting it on and so far it's holding up solidly. The couple times I've slung his guitar the strap feels pretty good but a heavy guitar would probably require an additional pad.

This strap works like it should. It's easy to use and is secure. I normally use the basic Ernie Ball poly straps, but tried two of these and I like them. It doesn't fit the large strap pin on my Seagull acoustic, but works great on all my other basses and guitars.
