This is the best straplock design ever. You can remove the strap and put it on in a second or two, and you don't have to keep the strap attached to the guitar while in the case like other straplocks. I play a very heavy Les Paul copy and no longer have to curl my body over while playing so as to catch my guitar if it falls!

Tried it on an Ibanez RG2550Z (last year's model). You can barely put it on; the button head on the guitar is about 17-18mm, but the widest part of the strap holder is 17mm (the narrow is 10mm). Trying in an angle I finally managed to get it on, but there's not enough freedom of movement and I couldn't quite get it to sit right.

I removed right away, and noticed it left some rubber on the guitar. Maybe it's because I had to struggle to put it on, but it doesn't look like the right choice of material.

Summary:

* The locking mechanism looks nice (assuming it's durable, which I didn't test).
* It didn't fit my guitar because of the 17mm opening and because the holders are bulky thickness-wise.
* The rubber on the internal side isn't durable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I've owned one of these and though it does what it's supposed to, the locking mechanism is more annoying than it is useful. It gets stuck, eventually gets worn out and destroyed. I switched to using ClipLock straps from DiMarzio later and never looked back.

Because my guitar is acoustic electric the strap hanger with the jack in it is bigger and the hard plastic connector wouldn't fit over it.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I love the fact you can lock your instrument and I don't have to worry if it will "slip out" mid-set -- yes, that have happened before, with a non-locking strap that worn out with repeated use. The incident almost gave me a slight heart attack -- therefore I only buy locking straps whenever I can. I wanted a simple looking but functional strap for my practice guitar (my other guitars have a "fancier looking" locking strap to match the instrument). Don't let the affordable price fool you, this strap is VERY nice, the picture does not make it justice. I normally leave my straps attached to the instrument when I put them back in the case. I have had no problem with this strap at all. I might even get this type for future guitars. It looks, fits and adjusts very nicely.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

If you've ever just about lost your precious guitar when the strap comes loose you know the value of this strap' The only problem it's not available on quality more expensive straps. I have no idea why. The narrow nylon strap starts to dig in to your shoulder after about a half an hour of playing.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I've been using these straps on almost all my guitars for many years. They are great for most electrics, don't come off during performances, east to take on and off. And they are made WITHOUT LEATHER which, as a long time vegan, is the most attractive attribute. True, they do not fit on all guitars, the design of some pegs will not accommodate. But I am ordering a new one to replace one which broke after about 15 years . . great product

I had hardware strap locks on other guitars, but I needed to install them onto each guitar. The strap IS THE STRAPLOCK! This works great and I use it everyday. While I was waiting for this to arrive, I almost dropped my guitar when it slipped off my strap! Never again!

The hard plastic ends do not fit my Kona and EJ-200SCE cutaway accoustic/electric guitars.
The hard ends would damage the guitar body in the case and while playing.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I am a former professional guitarist with more than 5 decades of experience. I have never really needed a locking strap. But, I have had unstable moments with my guitar(s) when recording in the studio and at home. I figured a locking guitar strap might be a good step. The Plant Waves model #PWSPL200 does the job. It works nicely. No complaints. And, I plan to get another for use on my bass and on my Tele. The one I currently have is on my LP model. It's a great value in my opinion.
