The other day i was at my local guitar store and i decided to try this one out. I absolutely love it. It has a very warm sound and it plays very smoothly. The neck isn't too thick and the large body supports a very full sound. I played it side by side with a couple more expensive takamines and it held sounded 5x better than all of them. I didn't bother to plug it so i don't know how good the electronics are but all other alvarez acoustic/electric guitars that I've played have always had great electronics. Overall this is a great guitar and for the price you can't go wrong!
Have owned this guitar for 3 years. Electronics are amazing for the price! After about 14 months, the gaskets in the tuning keys started cracking resulting in a lot of "play" and difficulty tuning. I replaced the keys with a set of Grovers and it's been great ever since.
I bought this guitar last year. It sounds great plugged in or unplugged. It has a rich, bassy sound while still having clear trebles. The guitar looks beautiful and always draws compliments whenever I play out. It has the appearance of a much more expensive guitar. There was a problem with the saddle and pickup when I got it, but Alvarez Customer Service was top-notch and got it straightened out for me right away.By all means, buy this guitar.
