I purchased this to use as a back-up on stage, and I'm very glad I did. It has pretty good tone for an axe in this price range. It looks great, too! Right out of the box, it had great action and a nice set-up. I recommend it.
I ordered the black version and the finsh is just stunning. Neck is thin and the action is low but not low enough for fret buzz. Just enough to make bending easy as pie. The 600T MK preamp system is awesome. I play straight into the P.A. without a D.I. box and the sound is still amazing. I use it a few times a week gigging at bars and it has never failed me. This is the 2nd Alvarez I own and even my cheap RD8 sounds great. Alvarez has wonderful quality for the money and I highly recommend this guitar to all musicians for any style.
I don't own this guitar, but the pastor at my church does. I have used it a couple of times to jam a little bit, and he is currently letting me borrow it to replace my mitchell. This is a great guitar. His has a crack in it but hes also had it for a while. It's nothing like a Taylor, but for the price it is awesome. Remember, no to guitars sound the same. So know the chance your taking ordering it online.
I have had this guitar for one month, I own a Martin GT16 and a Tacoma DM9 and paid more for them than this guitar. This guitar has great action, great acoustic sound without plugging in. It has a great pickup system that played through a PA system has good tone and resonance.I love my Martin and Tacoma but this one has a great feel. Though not as woody as the Martin and Tacoma. When you plug it in to a acoustic amp it is great sounding . It is designed to plug in and sound ood. The guitar is a gem for the money. It is a good quality instrument that you will love to play. It sounds good without plugging in and has greatring to it even though it is not a Martin or Tacoma it sounds good and has good sustain. Not like the Martin or the Tacoma but good a good ringing full sounding sustain. It does not sound cheap in anyway.Looks good too!!! buy ya one.....!! Can't go Wrong...for the money well spent.
This guitar ROCKS!!! The Sound and Quality are amazing...along with the fact that it comes WITH a built-in tuner, and some effects. Works Great for ALL styles of music, regardless if you're playing a show or with friends around a fire....This is the Guitar of Choice. Recommended!!! :-D
If you are looking for a clear sound for a modest budget this is an EXCELLENT guitar. I have always loved Alvarez as that is what my dad always played. I recently received this guitar and could not be more pleased. Loved the action out of the case, the sound is amazing. My AD60SC has a satin neck that is oh so nice and the onboard tuner is a great touch. Overall, the best guitar for the value I have seen and the best I have ever owned.
I have had this guitar for a year and a half now. I have been playing for 10+ years and no matter what guitar i have had, i always found myself wanting more. With this Alvarez, for the first time since i have been playin i find myself completely satisified.
This guitar is great. nice bright sound. Sounds glorious acoustically, as it should. quility drops slightly when plugged in, but just about all guitars do as I've seen. It still sounds great through an amp, just not quite as great as it does acoustically. Over all I'd say this guitar is great. Alvarez makes top notch guitars and I am a big fan.
I have owned several acoustics in my lifetime and this one is a joy to play. The fit and finish are excellent and the action (after a truss rod adjustment) is superb. I bought the Black model and the gloss finish really stands our, although fingerprints show. A simple wipe with a guitar polishing cloth and it looks like new again. I test played Martin, Fender, Gibson, Larrivie, and several others in the price range of $300-$1000 and the AD60SC won out hands down. I especially like the sustain and crisp tone of this guitar. It's loud and distinct and every time I pick it up, I'm impressed with this middle of the line Alvarez. I also play a Les Paul and a Strat and the narrow neck helps to maintain the feel between the three instruments. I feel at home with the action and neck on the AD60SC. Did I also mention the sustain is outstanding??
I was hunting for a new acoustic guitar for months, going to different stores and trying different models out. I was looking for a guitar under $700 or so, and I ended up going with this one. It sounds better to my ears than a lot of the higher-priced models I tried out, and I like it better than a lot of the cheap Martins. The action on my guitar was perfect when I got it, which I was very impressed with. So far I haven't been able to get any sound I like out of the electronics for recording purposes, but admittedly I hate acoustic electronics and have yet to find one that I like even on $2000+ guitars (just sounds so much better mic'd). For live purposes I'm sure they would be fine on this guitar. It stays in tune fairly well, though by no means perfect. The built-in tuner makes this not much of an issue though.Overall, a really solid guitar for the money. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
