Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AJ80CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Like most guitarist I played everything I could get my hands on.But chose this for the price to value. This jumbo has such a warm tone with lots of sustain and thats unplugged!I always got drowned out playing lead unplugged but not on this. The bottom is full but not muddy, the mid is clear and defined and the top has that beautiful bell like tone I've only found on more expensive guitars. The volume is very balanced as well.Plugged in you can get the exact same tone or change it dramitically no cheap electronics here.I bought this guitar to play not to keep put up and it's getting it.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AJ80CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar has the best factory setup I ever experienced. Better than my two Martins. Better than my Seagull. And even better than two Takamines that were setup by Third Coast Guitar in Chicago.
The sound is loud, full, and with good sustain. This is now my favorite guitar. It gives you its all out of the factory box. You don't have to wait years for a solid wood guitar to open up. The larger body of this guitar sings out!
I bought a Gator GC-Jumbo case for this Alvarez and it fits pretty well. I just had to press my fingers hard to indent the case's foam plush liner to make room for the electronic controls.
I'M SO HAPPY WITH THIS GUITAR I BOUGHT ANOTHER TO HAVE A BACKUP in case the first guitar should ever fail or get lost or stolen. Now that's a recommendation for this guitar-maker and model. NUFF SAID!

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AJ80CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Was worried buying a guitar online that i've never played before, but I'm glad I took the the chance. This guitar blew me away minutes after UPS delivered it. Such warm tone, even when playing in my basement it sounds amazing. Love having the built in tuner, and both xlr and 1/4" jacks available. Definately one of the best acoustics i've played in years, and much cheaper than most.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AJ80CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Yes , soon as I played the first cord on this fine guitar I knew I was done . I have been trying just about all of the brands out there of every acoustic/electric 6 strings from Martin to Taylor , from epiphone to fender and my last one was an Epiphone EJ200 it was good ; I had remember ten years ago my cousin had an Alverez guitar in Mississippi and I tryed his wallflower I think wow that thing had a beautiful tone it seemed like the sound had a sustain that would never quit and I have not found that sound in any acoustic guitar for a while so I read two reviews on this jumbo Alverez the one that impressed me was the one put there by a college professor , he recommended this model to his students as well as advanced players . So I got mine it sounds like a dream just a sweet bright full tone that does not die down it seems to carry until the next note or chord is played . This is not plugged in yet , so do yourself a favor skip the flash ftom the epiphone flashy looks with the linated top of some sort of plywood and get this beautiful sounding master peice , the tone will floor you . So you do not have to pay an arm & a leg for a great acoustic/ elec. guitar try them all then try an Alverez , in my opinion you want be sorry , you will be filled with joy not because you saved hundred of dallors but because you have just found one great sounding GUITAR -Amen-

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AJ80CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
UPS just delivered yesterday. I was totally blown away. I love everything about this guitar. The tuner is accurate. The sound is awesome plugged or unplugged. The 1/4 inch and XLR plugs are great for using with an amp or PA system. The neck is just a tiny bit larger than on my old Alvarez but after a few minutes of playing I decided that was a good thing. I quickly noticed that my big fingers weren't muting notes that weren't supposed to be muted. But there was one final test before deciding to keep it. I had to know how it sounds plugged in. I don't have an acoustic amp (yet) so I plugged it into my Vox VT 20+ modeling amp. I turned on the acoustic modeling effect and immediately realized that I don't need an acoustic amp. If I had to describe this guitar in one word it be "Perfection".

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AJ80CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
After trying a multitude of acoustic guitars with low to medium, to high prices. From a $100 dollar [*] to a $2500 HD28. Almost settling for a Breedlove which sounded great for a mid-level inst. I happened upon the Alvarez. Not necessarily my first choice (a Jumbo), but I owed it to myself to try as many as I could before parting ways with my cash. I swear.. this guitar resonates like a scallop braced Martin and has the glassy bell like top as well.. A balanced powerful sound when needed, a delicate romantic sound if you favor that playing style. The fit and finish are wonderful, the bound neck plays effortlessly .I would buy this guitar over and over again without question. I might mention I also own another Alvarez that I purchased in 1985. It was the wall flower in the acoustic guitar room at the music store, there were much prettier looking guitars, but none had the build and sound quality . It ended up going home with me that day. Its true when they say sound improves with age, the old one has, and I expect the new one will as well.

It is a great versatyle guitar at a very low price. It can be use to play rock, slide, jazz, blues, folk, pop, ballads, gospell almost any kind of music. The tesiture is balance. It has a great electronics and the tunner is acurate.
It is a pro instrument, with high end features. Action is great, nice finish details. Worth the money! I am a music professor at a university here in my homeland, and I been using Alvarez guitars since 1988 and I strongly recomend this brand to my students and collegues!
