A beautiful thin dreadnought with a quilted maple top and integrated electronics.
The Alvarez FDT243C Fusion Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar has a thin body that's perfect for performing musicians. The guitar's gorgeous quilted maple top and maple body project beautiful tone at every strum. The FDT243C guitar's cutaway facilitates access to the upper frets and the integrated System 600 MKII electronics are a great option on stage.
The Alvarez FDT243C maintains the dreadnought body width, but the thinner depth reduces the guitar's weight while retaining the tone qualities that make dreadnought acoustic guitars so popular.
Alvarez equips the FDT234C with a stunning bookmatched quilted maple top. Attack is clean and balanced with full sustain, ideal for fingerpicking and high-register flatpicking. The maple back and sides and a rosewood bridge and fretboard also offer lasting sustain and clear notes. Gold die-cast tuning machines keep the guitar precisely in tune. Other appointments that turn this guitar into a real show-stopper include the 3-piece Alvarez 12th fretboard inlay, ivoroid body binding, abalone rosette, and a natural finish.
The included Alvarez System 600T MK II Preamp/EQ is designed to offer the finest acoustic guitar tone reproduction available. The System 600T MK II provides a broad range of sonic control, mixing capability for different combinations of piezo/magnetic/microphone transducers, and features an on-board digital chromatic tuner. Equipped with a piezo pickup mounted under the bridge saddle, this pickup is connected to the Piezo input of the System 600T MK II. The Alvarez guitar will perform perfectly with this pickup/preamp combination.
The Alvarez Fusion Series is an ideal choice for live performers whose talents can draw a crowd. Featuring natural, sometimes beautifully figured maple tops, the Alvarez Fusion Guitars are clear and superbly articulate. The thinner body style translates into playing comfort for a set, or for an entire night.
And whether you're playing for an audience of one or a thousand, the onboard Alvarez System 600T Mk II electronics present your sound in its most natural form.

I play electric guitar and guitar synthesizers but I needed an acoustic for my studio work. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on an instrument that I don't play a lot. I decided on this Alvarez Fusion Dreadnought because it's thinner and therefore more comfortable for an electric player and I liked the built- in electronics. I have to say, honestly that I was stunned when I recieved this instrument. The flamed maple top is absouletly gorgeous. The abalone inlay around the soundhole is beautiful and just the right ammount (any more would be too much). The gold plated Grover tuning machines keep it in perfect tune and if you're not sure, there's an onboard tuner. I live in Hawaii where the humidity is usually pretty rough on acoustics but it dosen't seem to bother this one.The construction is very solid and has a real sturdy feel in your hand. The fretboard is a perfect width and the action is almost as low as my Stratocaster. Most acoustics are composed of a solid suruce top and mahogany back and sides so , I expected this one to sound a little tight and midrangy because the maple is a much harder wood. It does have those charactistics but when you plug it into the mixing board it's just awesome. You cn dial in any sound you want. There sre so many options. These are hand made guitars and you can tell. There are no buzzes, dead spots or cosmetic flaws and it was set - up perfectily by someone who knew what they were doing. I can make this guitar sound as good as anything out there and it looks 10 times better. It is totally beyond me how Alvarez can sell it at this price and I do expect it to go up. I've played acoustics that cost thousands and this one is just as nice. People have different prefferences and when you get down to it, any guitar is only as good as the person playing itbut I think this one is special. Try one.BP
