I was guitar shopping in my local shop, and was playing with some Taylors, and my friend handed me this guitar and said "Play this, then play this other one" The other one was his 3000$ Gibson, and the sound out of the Alvarez was practically as good. Needless to say I took it home. Phenomenal guitar for the money, I will recommend it to anyone.
This is the best sounding and best quality guitar I have ever owned. For the money it is un-beatable. I would never buy anything but an Alvarez. I bought it in 2005 and after 4 years of steady gigging, it is only getting better with age.
I bought this guitar from a small music store about 2 years ago and I have yet to put it down. The sound created by this guitar is unbelivable and so is the craftmanship. I have a friend that owns a Taylor 714 and the tone of my alvarez matches his. The only downside to this guitar is that it is not a cut away. I am glad I have found this great guitar. I now only buy alvarez acoustic guitars because of the experience I have had with this guitar.
