A nicely priced folk guitar with choice woods, and Alvarez' quality craftsmanship.

The Alvarez PF411 Professional Acoustic Folk Guitar's solid spruce top results in balanced tone, with ample sustain, exceptional clarity, and well-defined bass. The PF411 folk guitar's rosewood back and sides complement its balanced, defined sound and powerful projection even in high-register notes.

Gold die-cast tuners keep the tuning precise, and the rosewood bridge and fingerboard bring out clear, natural sustain. Other desirable appointments on this Alvarez guitar include exquisite herringbone maple body binding, 3-piece Alvarez fingerboard inlay on the 12th fret, abalone rosette, and a natural finish.

Best Acoustic for the money ANYWHERE

Ask me a question

This gitar has a wonderful voice and the Folk size makes it just alittle easier on those long sesions or writing music. The previous reviews were good but let me correct one mistake. This is an ALL SOLID WOOD guitar the back AND sides are solid Rosewood. There is no laminate sides or any other part of this guitar. This guitar is the REAL DEAL!!!

No MF90 but best folk in Alvarez Line

By Mike Cornett

from Bakersfield, CA

I got this guitar to replace the MF90 that I adored, but unfortunately had an accident with that left it with a slaughtered back, bracing and all. MF90 had solid sides, whereas this is a laminate side. This model has a nicer maple binding around the fretboard & headstock whereas the MF90 had no headstock binding and a black binding on the fretboard. The PF411 also has the herringbone around the top's edges which is a classy touch. The bridge pins are a cheap plastic, and I had a hard ebony on my MF90. The nut is also cheap plastic, whereas the MF90 was either bone or Tusq. Same nice and dry finish on the mahogany neck. Tuners are cheap, but I replace them with Gotoh 510 Deltas. Could definitely use a setup, isn't very playable out of the box. The truss rod could use an adjustment, but that's normal from a box shipment. Great value. Only option for a decent folk body in the current Alvarez lineup...Jump on it while you can.

What a steal!

Just received and am I pleased! Excellent all around for my first Alvarez. Have owned or do own Fenders, Yamahas, Takamines and Epiphones. Only knock would be the boring black pickguard. Beautiful craftmanship and sounds great! More playable out of the box than expected. Specifically noticed the binding, inlays, headstock and overall quality of finish immediately. Tone was exactly what I look for, to me it's plenty deep enough for a folk body and not tinny at all. Rings well. I'm no longer looking for a quality, mid-priced acoustic, I have it. Next step would be a Gibson. You won't regret buying this one - I want two!
