I've been player guitar for 31 years and have owned this Alvarez for several. I tried out everything before purchasing- Taylors, Gibsons, Takamines, etc . The neck profile fit my hand better than the Taks. The only two guitars that I found that I preferred were a Taylor and a Breedlove, and both were at least three times the price. Someday when I'm rich I'll buy the Breedlove, until then- this is the one. Great action for an acoustic, tremendous projection from the rosewood, beautiful tone. The sound will seduce you.
About a year now...In church 3 X a week...
Have really enjoyed it...Great electronics...
Stays in tune...Looks Great...Sounds Great...
This instrument was a "scratch and dent" clearance item. When I opened the box and removed the guitar, there was a rattle coming from the inside of the guitar. A "mini-plug" had somehow gotten loose, so I removed the chassis and re-connected the plug. The guitar is flawless. The action could not be better, and the craftsmanship is incredible! This guitar plays, looks and sounds like an instrument TWICE the cost...I play 7 days a week in Key West, Florida and am THRILLED with this Alvarez!
I wanted to learn to play guitar and I knew nothing when I bought this (I thought when it was an acoustic electric I could make it sound like an electric guitar) but anyway for a nice sit by the camp fire guitar it's great but for a louder first guitar it's no good. For me the strings were rather hard to press compared to some other guitars I've played. Overall I am pleased with this guitar but not overpleased.
This is one great guitar. I have owned and played many acoustic guitars that cost far more. Save your money. No need to to spend any more than the price of this one. Anything else is just fluff. For The feel and sound of this one is as good as it gets. If your looking for a great gigging acoustic this is it.
This is an amazing guitar. I have owned it for a couple months now and i have yet to find a fault in it. I started out on electric guitar and playing this acoustic was not too hard of a transistion. It is easy to play, the electronics work great. It is a must have, no matter what experience you have.
I own this guitar and love it. The body is smaller and little thinner than most guitars. Neck is quick feeling with good action. Not too low, but still easy enough to fret. The thing is beautiful also. The maple binding and herringbone are very classy and the rosette looks great too. Tone is bright because of the rosewood back and sides. It has no pickguard so it will probably get scratched up in a few years, but that's probably the only downfall. She sounds nice plugged in also. The electronics have alot of stuff you probably won't use. The notch button is good for reducing feedback and the eq is good as well. The built in tuner is great because you can tune is a pretty noisy environment. Overall an amazing guitar if your considering a nice one. I suggest looking at Alvarez guitars if your looking for quality and less money than american made.
this guitar is absolutley incredible! i borrowed from my friend for about a month and oh mannnn this hting is kickin. i love the feel of it and sound of it and then also you got the on board tuner and EQ. Ive played it up in church and played it at camps and oh man does this thing rock! you'll be happy once you get this in your hands!
