A redefined entry level guitar with full-scale neck, spruce top, and rosewood back & sides.

The Alvarez RD17CE Regent Series Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Cutaway is a serious guitar and constructed using many of the same components and techniques used in building their higher end instruments. It sounds and plays superbly well and is a classic looking Dreadnought.

The RD17CE has a spruce top and rosewood back and sides, classic tone woods that generate a warm and well-balanced tone with great highs and lows. Alvarez have made the neck profile on Regent Series a little finer so they're easier to play and every model is constructed using a dovetail neck joint that optimizes the transfer of energy between the neck and body.

This acoustic-electric guitar has a 3-band E.Q. with built in tuner and is equally at home both on and off stage.

All Regent Series instruments are fitted with the Alvarez bi-level bridge to carry more vibration to the top, which improves tone and resonance, and the PPS saddle and nut help to improve response and sustain.

This instrument has been finished using an electrostatic painting process for a more even finish that uses less paint in its application. This allows the guitar to sing a little more and it also looks fantastic.

Premium die cast tuners deliver tuning stability.

Comes with the Alvarez Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Comments about Alvarez RD17CE Regent Series Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

What can I say. For my first Alvarez Acoustic Electric guitar I'm surprised that for its price it plays AND sounds very good. It needed a neck adjustment upon arrival and a better set of strings but those are normal needs for ANY new acoustic guitar in this price range. No case included so that is a separate purchase. Great tone and great sound. Word of the wise though would be to replace the saddle and pins with better quality ones. Mine already has big grooves in the saddle from the strings so soon as possible I will be replacing them. Overall a great guitar for beginners or pro's that has a sound and the great play-ability you come to expect from a brand like Alvarez. I Would recommend this guitar to anyone needing a great acoustic electric under 500 USD.

Alvarez RD17CE Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar

By David Waddle

Comments about Alvarez RD17CE Regent Series Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

I just received my Alvarez RD17CE from Muscian's Friend. I have owned a Alvarez DY-55 Yairi for 35 years. Although the materials used in the RD17CE are not the same quality as the DY-55 due to the cost factor of the guitars, The quality of craftsmanship is evident. It is said that laminates are used in the construction of the RD17CE. If this is true the grains of the redwood and spruce run true throughout the entire guitar. This means that cheaper woods were not used under the laminates. This ensures both bright and deep sounds when being played. The electronics provide remarkable contrast with very little or no feedback. The neck is solid mahogany with rosewood finger board the fit and finish is remarkable. The elixer strings are very close the the neck which makes it very comfortable to play. The neck radius is a little smaller than the DY-55 which makes it a lot easier to play. My son in law just purchased a different brand of guitar in the same price range and it plays and sounds like it is made of cardboard. Considering the cost factor, you can't go wrong with the RD17CE. After all it is an Alvarez.
