I am a music student and needed a classical guitar for this semester. I didn't have much money to put into buying one and so I went with this one. The reviews seemed persuasive for what I was looking for, but I wasn't expecting anything great. When I recieved it I was really impressed with the tone and how it could stay in tune so well--maybe a few cents flat after a week. Now, as the semester is moving on, I have been getting into harder pieces and still am amazed by the quality of this instrument for the price I payed.

I ordered this guitar a few months ago and like it very much. I will say this, the guitar looks NOTHING like the picture that is displayed on this web page! The sound whole design is not as nice as in the picture, the tuners are silver and not gold, and the body is not light in color. It is orange-ish and somewhat of a satin finish, not clear coated. But it is a good guitar to learn on. I had never played guitar before and this is my first. I recommend the Korg GA-30 tuner and the CC-1 Alvarez guitar case. It?s an awesome case at a good price.

Amazing guitar

By AllAboutTheMusic01

from Frederick, MD

I bought this guitar as soon as it came out, and i have to say it is one of the best ones i've ever played. Mine looks exactly like the picture, so it as a very sleek classic look. It has a beautiful rich sound, expecially right after you put on new strings, and the shape of the guitar fits perfectly on the lap of the player. Many of my friends have played it and loved it. This guitar however is not for someone with short and/or small fingers as the fret board is rather wide.

Great beginner classical guitar

By JohnnyRocket

from New York

I got this about 6 months ago and I love it to death. I originally played electric guitar and bass and was looking into a classical acoustic. I tried a few out in the music stores around where I live and, granted, some are of better quality, but the ones I really looked at buying instead of this one were over $700. This guitar is perfect for its price and I could not have asked for more for the money I spent. Great sound.

Not What I Expected

By Kazman

Like someone posted before, the guitar I recived is not the one pictured. It has a satin orange finish and a rosette that is not nearly as nice as the one pictured. In fact, I wasn't even sure it was the right guitar, but it says Alvarez RC10 in the soundhole. Overall, it is a good guitar, it has a rather dead sounding string, but I am hoping that will change once I switch the strings. I bought this guitar for a travel guitar, something that isn't cumbersome to carry around. This guitar is very light and has alot of high and low end sound, but I find the mid range to be lacking, once again, hoping that will change with the strings.

Great Classical

By I_am_the_Behemoth

This guitar is great for beginner/intermedaite classical players. I have played on it multiple times and I really enjoy the feel of the body style, and I love the nylon/steel combination of strings. The gold tuners are very artisic and beautiful, along with the soundhole inlay. I would recommend this to any classical player.

Good for Beginners

This was my first classical guitar, and I am quite pleased with it. The rosewood fretboard and the maple body provide a fair tonal quality. This is a good BEGINNER, but after a couple of years, you'd probably want to move on to a better one, a Kohno or something like that.

RC 10

Considered the Ibanez GA5, after looking and playing both at a music store I went for the RC10. Great looks, sound is fantastic. After strings settled in(2 days) holds tune within 3 cents. Strings appear to be elixir, could be wrong. They feel and sound great. I've lost track of time while playing it. Can't seem to want to put it down. Should have given it strsight 10s, but I know there are better out there. Tried the $800.00 version, couldn't tell 650.00 worth of difference. SWEET sound.

Simply Amazing

I've been looking to get into classical guitars for about 6 months now and have been to numerous sites and stores looking for the one I feel is just right. When I picked this guitar up and started playing I instantly new that this guitar was very nice. The neck has a very nice feel to it and your hand just slides up and down which makes playing it that much easier. It has a nice rich sound right when you pick it up. I've also found that it tunes like a charm in the rare occasion that you have to tune it. I have had this guitar for 4 weeks and have only tuned it once. If you are thinking of getting into classical guitars or you just need a backup buy this guitar. You wont be sorry.

Fun to play

By Paul-_hh72

I really like this guitar. The action was a bit high at first but I took out the plastic saddle and sanded it down slid it back in and whammo, smooth as silk I didn't even have to remove/replace the strings, I just loosened them). I have it on a stand in the livingroom and I am always plucking it. Fun for blues and all those classic songs that are fun to play (Stairway, Over the Hills etc.). A very fun guitar and a great price. Buy and enjoy!
