Comments about Alvarez Regent Series RD270 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is about as close to a lower priced Martin as it gets. I have played a few guitars of this brand before and was not surprised with it's sound. I was surprised how well it was set up right out of the box. I did adjust the neck relief and string height at the nut and put a set of Ernie Ball Earthwood lights on it. This is a great inexpensive gig guitar. A lot of quality for a low price.

Comments about Alvarez Regent Series RD270 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Starting again; played for approx 8 years as hobby. Owned several guitars from low to high end. Laid off 2012, lost my heart. Had to sell them all. Now getting back into the music.
Not a pro but know good value. This guitar is a fabulous purchase. Beautiful workmanship. Low action. Very smooth neck. Just a slight fret buzz on low E at D to E, but hardly noticeable. Unbelievable set up for out of box guit fiddle. May have to case it I like it so much. Sound is amazingly good for the price. Layman ears will not know this from high priced guitar. Easy to bar chord, bend strings, hammer on & off, etc. Stays tuned well. Will see how it holds up.
Perfect to start or restart the fun.
For the price I paid can't be beat. My first but likely not my last ALVEREZ!

Comments about Alvarez Regent Series RD270 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is a nice guitar. I have been playing guitar for well over 40 years. I have worked on several Alvarez guitars in the past and found them to be of good quality. So when this one came up for sale on Presidents day weekend, I jumped at it. I spent about an hour setting it up and it plays fantastic. I lowered the saddle slightly, set the string height at the nut to what I like, and set the relief. I also changed out the strings to Ernie Ball Earthwood lights. No buzz anywhere and has a rich full sound. I have Martins that do not sound and play this well. I don't think you will find a better entry level guitar anywhere.

Comments about Alvarez Regent Series RD270 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I've played a lot of guitars over the years. I even own some expensive ones. For the money, you can't beat this guitar. Nice tone, well constructed. Alvarez is producing some nice instruments that are very affordable these days.
This is a very good entry level guitar, that also
serves the more experienced player as well. Mine only needed a slight setup, which most guitars do anyway, from the factory. I think anyone would be
        happy with this guitar.

Comments about Alvarez Regent Series RD270 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Right out of the box, it tuned to near perfect! This was not what I expected. Most inexpensive guitars need a good setup before you can even play chords on them. Not this one! Tuning is everything to me, and I'm happy with this one.
It's a beautiful guitar, nice sunburst finish. The neck has that satin feel and so easy to glide your hand up and down the neck. It has very rich projection. Very pronounced. The notes are clear and crisp. Has a warm tone, It'll hold its own with my Songwriter. I like the EXP strings on it. Bright, crisp a good sound overall. Comfortable to play. I may have the strings lowered just a bit for comfort. I think it's a "keeper". It's a really nice guitar at a really affordable price, too. Get one for yourself. You'll be glad you did. I know I am. Thank you, Musicians Friend!
