I've had this guitar lying around for a few years now, I've been plinking on it now and then, and recently have really been playing it a lot while my strat and RG are out of commission (strat is in for a full setup, RG is getting a new bridge). It has a very clear sound, a bit heavy in the low mids, but very nice. The feel is neat, the action is spot on, and individual notes stand out nicely. Overall, a great guitar for the price. I recommend for everyone. (try playing some Kansas on it, sounds fantastic)

Not the best

Not the best product. I've owned this guitar for a year it buzzes all the time. The sound of the guitar is low quality. But what can u expect for a cheap guitar?

Great guitar

    Best Uses

got this guitar for my 18th birthday from my uncle. he bought it from a pawn shop. I picked it up and was immediatley happy. I play a fairly diverse line up of styles that really center around "standards" (not as in a benchmark for quality) stuff like blues, jazz, bits of classical and flamenco, etc etc. So what pleased me with this guitar was that it wasnt just some bulky acoustic, it didnt sound like some 3000 buck concert guitar toby kieth strums a couple chords on. It had response, snap, a bright tone, a very fast neck, it holds tune very well (I find the martin marquis work well with it) and its very inexpensive. If you are looking for a beater or if your a beginner it is a sweet guitar.

I've owned this Guitar for about a year now. The Guitar stays in Tune pretty well. Keep an eye on it because when it goes out of Tune it goes out. Has a nice sound, but not full as a Dreadnought. But the size is good! Its Very Comfortable to play! Its good for the Price!

      Alvarez RF8 Acoustic Guitar

So I bought this guitar about a month ago to take on tour as a beat around the town or after party shows. This guitar is quite amazing. I have played it everday since Ive bought it. In fact the only time I use my way more exspensive guitar is on stage. The tone is fantastic for only being $200, and the fact you get a pretty durable hardcase with that price is amazing enough! I recommend this guitar for anyone. This is one of those guitars that are meant for a beginner but sounds good enough for a pro.My only flaw is the action is a bit high, but the local guitar shop I bought it from said the bridge could easily be shaved down and the truss rod turned. So that's an easy fix which will make this guitar flawless!!!

      Beautiful

I've had this guitar for a year and a half now, and I still use it and love it. With the case, it's a really good deal: Nice mellow tone, pretty warm with some better strings on it. I use light strings, and I'm pleased with the ease of play and tone and volume. The action is fair, you can monkey around pretty fast on it, but I guess its not really meant for that. I wish it had a pickup in it. I am definitely considering Alvarez for my next acoustic (I want to upgrade soon) because I am very pleased with it. Great axe!

      Worth the Money

I just got the Alvarez RF8 and I love it. It stays in tune, has a nice mellow sound for being a folk body guitar, and the strings can be changed easily. While I would suggest getting a truss rod installed, because the wood in the neck is prone to becoming warped. I would highly suggest this guitar for any serious beginner

AWSOME starter guitar...first guitar I've owned. I have been playing it for just over 2 years and its sitting on my lap right now. Still stays in tune even after being droped and mistreated (unintentionally). I recommend this guitar to a beginner for its comfortable and learner friendly size. Great value.

Good guitar for beginning guitarists. It comes with a case and that's not bad either. Good sound, holds a tune really good. Even holds drop c really good :p

      truely unbelievable

I bought this guitar from a friend used. The first time I played it I couldnt believe it was only $220! Our lead guitarist plays a taylor big baby and it compairs not only in tone and craftmanship but playability as well. It has a very easy fret board and a beautiful finish the only complaint that I have is that if you slightly touch the hardware an strings 3/4 it comes out of tune but still whenever I play it pple always ask how much it is and are blown away at 200 I believe this to be a beautiful guitar and if you can't throw $500 on an acoustic then this is the one you want and the case looks good too...P.S. it has a smaller body making it easy for any one of any age to play.
