The entry-level guitar. Redefined.

The sound is open and full, and the guitars have been made to respond well, making them rewarding to play.

Comments about Alvarez RP266EBK Parlor Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Fun guitar so far after a few hours playing. First impressions, beautiful fit and finish and set up out of the box. I believe Alvarez sets up each instrument at its St. Louis factory though these entry instruments are made in China... not a bad thing given the impressive build quality of the guitar I received. In terms of tone and playability I'm pretty pleased, very full sounding mahogany body, a very slightly limited bass articulation (to my ear but very acceptable and especially for a laminate instrument) with exceptional mid and treble tone pronunciation. Having always had spruce top guitars, save a prewar solid mahogany Gibson L-00, my initial impression of this guitar was pleasant surprise, a bit jazzy sounding to my ear, smooth neck and very good action with no adjustment. Have always loved Diadario(sp?) Ej16 light strings but the EXP's are great very easy and fun playing. Full disclosure my skill level is perpetual begginer but very picky about tone and overall sound quality. Anyway, dig the guitar so far mining song tabs and fiddling with scales. On board tuner is right on, haven't tested electronics so far with anything beyond a mini Hodad toy amp which isn't best pairing so cannot comment much on the pickup and eq until I invest in a real amp.
