This is the guitar I wanted 37 years ago but didnt buy because I couldnt see paying high dollars for it in the early 70's. Let me tell you even at the price I payed in todays modern world, it is a steal. The quality, the tone, the ease of touch makes you feel like the master guitarist even if your not. When I sing I talk but when the guitar plays, everyone listens and they hear the beauty and quality as if you are the master. Buy this guitar. It is my dream guitar.
Okay, I'm not a professional musician, however I play alot of guitar. I started out on an Alvarez classical and I finally could hear the difference when I played on expensive classical guitars. So I looked around, played $5,000 classicals in stores, reaserched on the internet, and decided I wanted to try an Alvarez Yairi. I wanted electronics because I perform live solo fingerstyle guitar, some classical, and some rock. I also record so I needed electronics. I also wanted a cutaway to be able to play Steve Howe stuff. I loceted a music store which had one and drove 3 hours to get there, and it was love at first song. I have plyed it continuoulsy for going on 8 years and do not want any other guitar. IF you want a nylon string, versitle guitar to play classical, fingerstyle, rock, this is it!
This guitar compares very favorably to the high end classical guitars that cost three times as much. I love the nifty ebony knobs that disappear discretely into the body. The electronics sound very natural and are easy to use. Simple intuitive controls do just what they are supposed to and nothing more. Action and intonation are superb! I have owned many expensive classical guitars and played hundreds. This is by far my favorite gigging guitar. I would recommend it to any classical player with no reservations whatsoever.
