I bought this guitar as a deployment guitar, I own an Ovation limited and I wanted something less pricey to have in Afghanistan, it was delivered to Afghanistan and I've now carried it through two deployments. This guitar holds up, period. It holds it's tune through temp changes, changes in elevation, and has been through all sorts of conditions that you normally wouldn't want to put a guitar through. Now that I'm stateside I find I use it more than the Ovation simply because I like the feel of it and it's just a very comfortable play. With a medium action (standard) it is very easy to play for long periods and I think it would be a good beginners guitar as it's very user friendly. All in all it's an outstanding buy for the guitar player who wants a reliable travel companion. It's earned it's stripes.
I bought this guitar after I traded my Ovation to a friend of mine. I like the bowl and the lack of feedback you get as a result. I bought the applause knowing it wouldnt be as good as my ovation. I was wrong. I still cannot find anything it lacks compare to an ovation, seriosly.
I can't stop playing it,with out any doubt for this price this is a good instrument and good looking guitar, I really like its sound, amplified or not It has a great sound, mine(a sunburst) looks a lot better than the one they show us.I can't wait to get some money together and get another Ovation ....(I didin't have to adjust anything from this guitar!!! )
I have to say that other acoustic/electrics I've had just didn't "feel right". But when I received this I fell in love with it. I find that it is easier for me to play versus the others guitars I have had. Its a great sounding guitar, it stays in tune, it looks great and its affordable! I have no complaints about it at all. If you seek a well built, affordable, great sounding guitar, this is the one for you!
An amazing buy for the price. I have played Ovations before but never really cared for the rounded back. I still don't but I wanted to add this unique sound to my guitar collection and the price was right. I suppose I will just need to put a strap on it and stand up for a change (I'm kind of lazy). It plays well, even with my big hands and the sound and response are beyond what I expected for the price.
i needed an acoustic so i bought this from my friend. i don't know what strings originally came with it, but it plays really fast with martins. overall this guitar is average. my top string buzzes, and i cannot figure out how to fix it. it stays in tune for about half a minute. The input jack came loose so i had to loosen all my strings and stick my hand inside the body of the guitar to screw it back in. i dont really like the rounded back either, it isnt very attractive.
