The Applause AE128 Super Shallow Waterfall Bubinga Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a special version of the popular AE128 model. This one features a beautiful bubinga top with transparent red finish. Bubinga makes an excellent soundboard, producing bright midrange and bass tones that are well suited to the design of this Applause guitar.
Applause guitars combine roundback technology, professional features, and extreme value. Preferred by many stage performers and acoustic guitarists who rely on amplification, the AE128's Super Shallow composite body feels similar to an electric, yet it retains all the benefits and acoustic properties of our proven roundback design.
A bubinga top and matched lightweight bracing deliver a clear amplified tone with plenty of headroom before feedback on stage. The guitar's center soundhole offers a traditional look, and its slim neck has an electric-style profile, 20 hand-finished nickel-silver frets, and low factory-set action. A cutaway insures easy access to the entire fretboard.
Featuring a 3-band EQ, gain knob, and battery status LED, the easy-to-use onboard OP-4B preamp is great for live performance and recording.
Its advanced Ovation design and bubinga top offer superb sound quality, easy playability, and great looks.

Comments about Applause AE128 Super Shallow Waterfall Bubinga Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I like this "thinner" roundback compared with the big-bowl backs I once owned. This guitar is VERY comfortable to play. You do sacrifice volume unplugged, but no big deal. It does not sacrifice tone which is what I was afraid of buying a guitar online without first playing it in a store. Nice balance of Bass, Mid, Treble. The V-neck shape on the guitar is awesome in my opinion. This is definitely made for players like me who use mostly electric guitars but want/need a real acoustic. The electronics on it work quietly and very well. So what you lose unplugged, you more than get back when running direct into an amp or a PA board. The Bubinga top is gorgeous and mine is a deep red color. Very happy!
