The B.C. Rich Assassin FX6 highlights the return of the ASM shape and features full, real abalone multi-ply binding on the body, neck and headstock, flame maple cap, custom revolver control knobs and an ebony fretboard adorned with an abalone vine inlay. The tonal qualities are driven by high quality Rockfield SWV pickups and a tune-o-matic style string-through the body bridge.
B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in Neck-Through construction. They utilize it on many of their guitars, because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with a long piece (or pieces) of premium North American maple. That piece runs from the tip of the Assassin FX6's headstock to the strap button on the opposite end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows deeper cutaways at the neck joint which provides comfort no bolt-on or set-neck could offer.
Rockfield Pickups - Mafia
The use of a ceramic magnet gives any pickup extra power due to the increased magnetic field they provide. This feature makes the Mafia guitar pickups produce a hotter and thicker tone that's really aggressive and full. The increased low end, thick mids and in your face highs is what rock and roll was built on! Balanced and full of sustain this pickup is a great representation of its namesake, a truly intimidating killer.
The neck version of the Mafia pickup is just as full sounding as the bridge position, without taking away from what has already been accomplished. Very minor modifications to the overall design and design concept of this pickup gives it punchy, bold tone with the same aggressive characteristics as the bridge version. A tad brighter with a little less output really takes this pickup into the smooth and warm realm of the tonal spectrum. All while maintaining that balanced bite and in your face aggressive tone that the Mafia is known for!
Deep Arched Top
A deep arched top is used on the B.C. Rich Assassin FX6. The deep arch is achieved by increasing the body center by approximately 5/8" and then gently sloping the arch toward the side of the instrument and leveling out just as the slope reaches the edge. A deep arch top when applied to a B.C. Rich shape gives an air of elegance and sophistication.

I have always been in love with bc rich. Mockingbirds are my favorite. However when I received this guitar in the mail I was blown away. I thought it was a mistake. This guitar looks and sounds perfect. Its plays even better. I lowered the bridge a tiny bit and the action is so low you would be lucky to get a credit card under the strings. With no buzz!!! Absolutly the most beautiful axe ever!!! Swear. Buy it! Buy it! My friends payed twice as much for les pauls and esps and have openly admitted this blows them away. The sound is so clear it gives me chills. When distorted its so chunky you want to mosh 4eva!!! Perfect!!!
All i Play are B.C. Rich's, i've got a Warlock, Bich, Beast and now this new flawless work of art. I recommend this guitar to ANYone.
This guitar has amazing looks, the pictures don't serve justice. The neck is very thin and strong. The fretboard inlays (amazing) do not interfere with fretting AT ALL, it is also lightweight nato wood which is good for playing gigs or just jamming while standing. The tuners are great, and the pickups have excellent sustain and can play many different styles very well.
I have NEVER been a fan of B.C. Rich, if anyone ever asked me about them i would always Send them to a Different brand. That Has Changed. This is BY FAR the best guitar B. C. Rich has ever produced. It looks beautiful, and sounds like an angels sweet serenade, in a distorted sense i guess. This Guitar has definatly been brought up to #1 on my Guitars-to-get list.
I bought this guitar to install a Roland GK3 to use with a Roland VG-99 and GR-33 as well as have the versatility of regular HB and single coil sounds. The GK3 controls fit nicely on the lower strap button. However, after installing the GK3 pickup with the bridge mount I realized that the bridge would not lower completely on the bass side. It had a defective bushing that had been installed anyway. So, I bought a black locking Tone Pros bridge with grahptech saddles to replace it. Note that the specs for the guitar say it has a Tone Pros bridge but it is Korean. The original bushing holes were .6 mm larger than the real Tone Pros' which forced me to do some creative filling. It turned out great and actually improved the sound. The guitar fit, finish, and playability are superb. The Rockfield pickups are OK but not great. I plan to replace them with those new ultra versatile SD P-Rails. Overall, a good guitar that can be turned into a great guitar with a little work.
First off, if you are considering getting this guitar. GET IT! This guitar is simply amazing. I was a bit nervous at first of my purchase, but I don't regret a thing. The action is perfect; low, tight and accurate. The intonation was great when I bought it. This guitar just sounds beautiful. The finish is so smooth and flawless! The flame top also makes this guitar looking stunning. If you are looking for a metal tone, you might want to invest in some different pickups. The Rockfield Mafia pickups do sound great, but they lack a little on the sound they give off on harmonics. They do produce some good lows for "chugs" and the neck pickup sounds beautiful as well for sweep picking. Very clean. The pickups sounds awesome clean! Very bright and thick tone. Sounds beautiful! If you are looking for a metal tone, invest in some other pickups. But if you are looking for a good rock and clean tones, the mafias are the way to go.This guitar is perfect in every way. You will not regret your decision.
