For about 7 years I've wanted a nice BC Rich Warlock. I bought the Bronze series a long time ago as my first electric. It did the job, but nothing special. The nice ones were always far too expensive (Bronze, Platinum and NJ are NOT nice). I found this one for $299. Even if it wasn't nice, it looked cool. I had to order it. Features - Ebony fretboard, set-neck, neck binding. Things you find on higher-quality guitars. I was not dissapointed in that aspect at all. Pickups are hot, as in they are fairly loud, but sound a little dull and muddy. Seperate volume knobs for each pickup is new (to me) but nice feature.Quality - I'm unsure if this was in the factory or the shipping process, but the neck was MORBIDLY warped. I adjusted it myself and it seems fine now, but I had to use the hex-wrench that belongs to my Jackson. The factory wrench stipped with little ease and the truss rod nut was chipped and rusted. The intonation and action were terrible. All is fixed now. It plays great. I was just suprised at how unplayable it was when it first arrived. Don't let this scare you though... any guitar can feel great if you get someone to set it up who knows what they're doing. Value - $299? What more can I say?Overall - I love BC Rich. I know they're mediocre guitars. I've played countless lousy ones, and only a handfull of decent ones. Surely I can't be the only one who enjoys the looks of the warlock. If you're looking for a warlock do not get the bronze, platinum or NJ. They are cheap pieces of crap. But sometimes money will keep you in that range. $299 is more than a deal for this guitar.

a set neck for cheap

By Hanging Man

from Mass

Just got my deluxe set neck warlock. I raised the action a little and went to band practice, this thing shreds. The pickups are a little cheesy but they had to cut costs somewhere.I currently own a Jackson king V, an Ibanez JS100 Satriani,a 19 year old Charvel mod 5 and i can honestly say once i put a pickup in this warlock it will probably become my main guitar, the neck is so fast, perfect for anything heavy,Also ,this is my 3rd B.C. and the other two i paid more for and the quality sucked(90's NJ series)...I should have ordered two. I could go on all day.

Excellent Guitar!

I just received my Warlock and I can't say enough good things about it. Yes you could put better pickups in it but if you have the right equipment(Mesa Boogie) it screams. I put Ernie Ball Heavy Bottom strings on it and I must say this thing crushes. Playability is awsome. I'm sweeping with ease using heavy strings. I'm sure with a little tweaking it can be even better.Worth every penny for sure!

Great for Metal

I saw a BC Rich set neck guitar here at a surprisingly low price. I took a chance and I don't regret it. It has an amazing tone for metal that actually sounds like it is tuned below standard pitch even when it is not. I have looked for a guitar that has that nice low end punch and brilliant high end for for quite a while. This guitar fits that niche perfectly. It is also the first guitar I have bought in a very long time that was almost perfect in setup. I had to only tweek the bridge saddles a teeny bit to get the intonation spot on. Never even touched the truss rod.For a part-time metal player like myself this is a bargain beyond belief. For anyone else it is a guitar with a very flat fast fingerboard with a skinny neck. If you want a multipurpose instrument this is not for you. It will curl your hair though, when played for it's intended purpose.

I cant say enough about my deluxe.I have owned it for over a year now and have had no problems whatsover.Play this wicked monster thru a decent amp and unleash hell. This is not a guitar for anyone but metalheads. I own a standard SG that I play if I want a clean sound. For the $*** pricetag you cant go wrong.Im buying another just to have it.

What a deal!

By Fatboy Dave

Wen I ordered this guitar I really didnt expect a whole lot. I bought it only because it was a set neck and I have never found one at this cost. Boy was I suprised when I inspected the craftsmanship. For a Korean made guitar the craftsmanship is pretty darn good. there are two minor dents in the body behind the bridge, (not chips in the paint). The fret work is very good for this price range. The tone is not to shabby, not to hot not to cold definately middle of the road for stock pick ups. The tuners feel a little cheap, but it holds in tune. Its very light and actually feels comfortable with a strap or sitting.overall a great deal for the money.

The price is definitely right..

The guitar was playable out of the box, but after putting on a set of heavy elixir nanoweb strings and resetting the intonation, the sound is killer! I can easily keep the guitar in tune at drop B. I think this warlock is basically a platinum guitar with a bronze bridge, which is fine by me. My only complaint is that the bridge pickup is a little muffled and muddy sounding, but the neck pickup is a screamer, get this!!!!!

great guitar for a great price!

By n2T-r8sTi

I just got my guitar in the mail today and it rocks! It has the fastest neck i've ever played and the strap hookes are great, the only reason i gave it a nine on the features was that i think a floyd rose tremolo would have put this guitar over the top. This guitar is the best for metal also. Over all a great buy get yours today!

This thing is a metal man's dream

I bought this guitar about 7 months ago and this thing can play from Black Sabbath all the way to Lamb of god. The pickups are a little bit cheesy but just put on some EMG 81 and 85 and your ready to be metal. This guitar is the fastest neck I have ever played and can do pinch Harmonics all day. My advice if you can get it buy it!

A Steal !

Just got mine in the mail today. This is my first B.C. Rich. I got it out of the box, tuned it up, and I was off and running. Great playability right out of the box! However, a good set up will be needed as usual with any new axe. The neck is great, the picture doesn't do it justice at all. Nice binding, and the inlays are awsome looking! The Pickups, as you would expect from a guitar in this price range are nothing to write home about, but a good set of EMG's or Duncan's will fix that. The bridge is a little wierd too, But I'll get used to it. Overall, a great guitar, it looks great and sounds even better. an awsome deal! So buy one while they still have some left!
