Shredders, the highly requested Ironbird guitar is back! Armed with B.C. Rich's high output BDSM tone-seeking pickups Ironbird 1 is a formidable weapons platform.

B.C. Rich BDSM Pickups

B.C. Rich designed their BDSM humbucking pickups to provide a solid sound and to be durable while delivering high output. BDSM stands for Broad Dynamic Sonically Matched. Which simply means that the pickup is designed to reproduce a wide range of frequencies accurately (broad dynamic). Then they are tested and matched in pairs (neck and bridge) by their inherent individual and signature tonal and output characteristics to give a solidly balanced tone (sonically matched).

Beveled Top

In many ways bevels on a top are similar to facets on a cut stone. They catch the light and reflect at different angles giving the instrument more of a three dimensional look.

I love this guitar

By JAC

from MI

Comments about B.C. Rich Ironbird 1 Electric Guitar:

There are three things I feel should be said about this guitar.

1: The pickups and the neck are sized for a floyd rose, which has wider spacing than a standard bridge like this. So you've got about a strings size of empty space on the neck past the low E string, and the strings don't line up with screws/studs in the pickup, this is really mostly an asethetic thing and doesn't really matter.

2: You can see where they glued the wing onto the body when light hits it a certain way or you look closely

3: The tuners - which keep in tune amazingly well for me - can be difficult to tune, sometimes requiring massive strength to move along with a concern that you might be breaking it (you're not)

All that aside, this guitar is great. I love the way it plays and the pickups and the style and most importantly I just love having it. I have feelings for this guitar. It's been about a decade since I had feelings for a guitar. It just has spirit I guess.

Amazing Guitar!

Comments about B.C. Rich Ironbird 1 Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar, begginner or advanced players are sure to love it, the action can be set really low without fret buzz, the only problem with this guitar is that the strap button on the right ( if you are right handed) is placed directly under the sharp spike at the top, which causes the guitar to lean twords the ground, neck first. i fixed this by making a hole directly where the low E string would be, just follow it till you get to the body, and then moved the knob there and the strap problem was fixed. great guitar for many genres, great clean sound, great distortion, if you have a good amp, a guitar is only as good as the amp its played through. if your amp sucks, your guitar most likely will too, reguardless of if it cost you 5 dollars, or 5 thousand dollars. i plan on keeping this guitar forever, and even after it dies, i will fix it up because its that good.
great body shape, B.D.S.M pickups, which are AMAZING pickups for standard default pickups
Great build, except for the strap button near the right side of the guitar
Been using this for a year, iv put it in gigs, practice time, and played 2 million + notes on it, and have broken maybe 10 pairs of strings, this guitar is a MUST BUY for the price, you will NOT be dissapointed.

Save your money.

Comments about B.C. Rich Ironbird 1 Electric Guitar:

While this is not a bad guitar, I would not buy another one. It is SO uncomfortable to play, Standing, sitting I cant find a comfortable position. Its not a bad playing guitar, and It has decent sound, But not much sustain. The volume/tone knobs are ether way low or full tilt, not happy mid range volume/tone at least on my guitar. The finish seems to scuff easly but seems to resist scratches pretty good. Input jack location is just stupid. I got this guitar because it was a deal I could not pass, But soon will be forsale to purchase a dean. The iron bird (1) looks good on a stand and thats about it IMO

Pure Gold

Comments about B.C. Rich Ironbird 1 Electric Guitar:

This guitar nearly has similar tone to the more expensive b.c. rich guitars. I plugged it in to a vox 30w tube amp, and it sounds like metal heaven! Get this guitar and save A LOT of money. And the shape of the guitar only makes it even better, but the only con is that I wish it had a trem bar.

Horrible Guitar

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about B.C. Rich Ironbird 1 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because of the shape, it looked pretty cool at first. But after I bought it started to fall apart and I didnt do any physical damage. This guitar is cheaply made and not worth buying. My volume knob couldnt go to 10 and it started to get really loose and scratch the body. The neck feels really weak and not very sturdy. The pickups were normal but not good. Even though the shape of the guitar is cool at first, it's cheaply made and is horrible to use. I returned it in four days and got an ESP V. Don't buy this guitar. B.C. Rich focuses on the guitar shapes and not the actual quality of the guitars.
