B.C. Rich has graced the NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar with an ebony fretboard and full pearl binding on the headstock, neck and body. Want more? How about neck through construction, EMG pickups and a Floyd Rose Original tremolo

Neck-Through Construction

B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in neck through construction. They use it on many of their guitars, because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with a long piece (or pieces) of premium North American maple. That piece runs from the tip of the headstock to the strap button on the opposite end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows more of the body and neck to be cut away at the neck joint, which provides comfort no bolt-on or set-neck could offer. You will find the neck through feature on all top of the line B.C. Rich models.

EMG-81 (bridge position)

The EMG-81 is a high output pickup designed especially for the lead guitarist. The 81 is at its best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume. Whether you're playing power rock and roll, or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack, and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. If you're looking for exceptional qualities in a rock pickup, the EMG-81 is the one.

EMG-85 (neck position)

Although the EMG-85 has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses two Alnico magnet loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fatter top end. Because of a more natural tone, it works great as a rhythm and blues pickup because it has loads of output but isn't muddy.

Flat Top

Some of the B.C Rich shapes are offered with a flat top. The flat top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the edge of the instrument's shape. Usually when the flat top feature is used, B.C. Rich adds a stripe of single or multi-ply binding around the edge in a complementary color. The binding on a flat top finishes off the edge cleanly and gives a sleek and clean look to the guitar.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

If you can't quite afford a custom shop/American made B.C. Rich, stick with the NJ Deluxe series. You will feel it the second you pick it up, and hear the difference when you plug in. I bought my first B.C. Rich Warlock in 1987 (Platinum Series). While these "NJ" guitars are not made in Nagoya, Japan, they do retain the neck-through construction, quality wood, quality pickups and hardware (Grover tuning machines and a real Floyd Rose bridge). The guitar stays in tune even if you are being hard on the whammy bar. I bought the NJ Deluxe Warlock a couple of years ago, and noticed that I was playing my Jackson Kelly and Jackson King V less and less, and playing the Warlock more and more. I decided to pick up the NJ Deluxe JR V hoping it would play like the NJ Deluxe Warlock. My new JR V does not disappoint! The construction of the NJ Deluxe series is very solid, and the Mother of Pearl binding around the head stock, neck, and body is flawless. The Mother of Pearl spear points marking the 12th fret are also beautiful. It would be cool if the old-school diamond inlays were used on these NJ Deluxe series guitars rather than the spear points, but that would be the only change I would make. This guitar has all the high-end features you only find in guitars costing triple or more. All the features you want (and they are well done), AT A FRACTION OF THE COST! Get yours now! You won't regret it.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

I've owned two other guitars before this one: an Ibanez fender strat style back in 2008ish, and a USA Jackson KV2. The Jackson KV2 was amazing, but for $2600 USD, it's over priced, even for a USA made guitar. You pay A LOT OF MONEY for that little "Made in the U.S.A." script on the headstock. This BC Rich gives the Jackson a run for it's money, (with the price drop) at 1/5th the cost.

I know what you're thinking: How can a USA made guitar compare to a Korean made guitar? Well, just because the Jackson was made in the US, doesn't automatically make it a superior product. How many Japanese, Korean, and EU made cars are on the road in America? Catch my drift?

        Looks:
The fit and finish on this axe is excellent. The pearl binding is delicious, the frets are smooth on all sides, the fretboard and neck are smooth and very comfortable. The finish on the body and neck has a deep luster and is highly polished. The control knobs and switches are very smooth and the black on black color scheme works great for this guitar. The rear access panels fit very well and I was pleased to find that the screws take a normal philips head driver: no need for an extra small philips head screwdriver like with the Jackson. The V body is smaller (I think) compared to the Jackson, and the inward swept tips of the wings give this guitar a unique look.

        Hardware:
The input jack is smartly located on the back of the guitar and recessed at an angle to easily plug in your cable, or if you jam with headphones, a VOX headphone amp plugs in nicely. The tremolo is a Floyd Rose 1000 series. This means it uses the same materials as an Original Floyd Rose, but this one is available OEM only, and it's made in Korea. BC Rich kindly includes an extra trem spring. EMG 81/85 pickups comes standard, that feature is just awesome.

Once I put some d'addario nyxl 10-52's on her and set the action, she sounds absolutely killer. Sustain, clairity, great attack, this guitar is a screamer.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

I was skeptical at first when looking at this guitar. Yeah, it has an original floyd, neck through, ebony, fully bound etc etc., but if the materials and construction are done poorly, it won't matter. I've owned several ESPs and Jacksons over the years, and had yet to find the perfect guitar for me.

I tooka chance and pulled the trigger on the BC Rich Jr V Deluxe. My expectations were exceeded by the quality of the materials and how well it was put together. The guitar is goreous, solid, well built and plays like a dream. I originally bought that black one with the reverse headstock, and have since bought one in white. They're my two main stage guitars now.

This V body is a bit slimmer than Jackson King V's or ESP V's, and it has way better playability and access to the upper frets. It is the most comfortable V style guitar I have ever played. It hangs balanced on a strap perfectly, stays in tune even when cranking on the Floyd, and harmonics ring out with low action.

The only thing is that it doesn't come with a case, and that is an inconvenience if you gig out a lot. You'll have to buy a case seperately, but even then this guitar is still a steal. It slaughters anything in the same price range from ESP, Jackson, Schecter, Ibanez, etc.

I had never owned a BC Rich guitar, and had my doubts for a guitar with such nice specs for this price, but was blown away and now own two. I amost never write reviews, but I love these guitars. You will too.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

Great craftmanship, a solid Floyd Rose tremolo, a slimmer V body profile than ESP or Jackson, great tone, and easy playability for a V make this ax a true winner for BC Rich. Had to level the FR, and I use lighter gauge strings, so I had to do some setup work, which was easy but took a little while. I changed one thing, just for my tonal preference. I took the EMG 85 out of the neck position, moved the EMG 81 from bridge to the neck, and put an EMG 81x in the bridge position. The 81 in the neck position still has great bass response and has more clarity than the 85. the 81x is also a great pickup. The binding goes completely around the neck, headstock, and body and is absolutely stunning. Great price, too, from Musician's Friend. They keep coming out with great instruments/ amps at tremendous savings, just check on the website often!

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

When I was looking for my third guitar last summer, I decided to go with the expensive once, instead of buying a bunch of shitty ones, like I had before. Visually, the guitar is more stunning in person than online. The pearl binding accents the gloss black body and ebony fretboard perfectly. All black hardware is a basic rule, and looks good. The only problems with the features for me were the original tremolo and the flat top. My previous guitars were all carved top, making it slightly more comfortable to play, but it took me a day or so to get used to it so no big deal. I replaced the OFL for a low pro floyd, but that's my preference. The EMGs are great, which is good, since the first thing I usually do with a new guitar is switch out the stock pickups. The price tag was perfect for my budget,a dn I was also surprised that it is as good as it is, seeing as there are Jackson's twice as expensive with the same features, and this one even plays easier.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

This is the most underpriced and underated guitar I've ever seen. It is flawlessly crafted, theres nothing wrong with the cosmetics on mine, floyd rose is superb. Action was heavenly, plays like /butter. EMG 81/85 combo is amazing, the bridge is crisp and viscious. The bridge is warm and buttery. Input jack is conviently placed on the top wing, at a slight angle. Infinite sustain, a must have for any guitarist who can handle the V. The best $ i've ever spent.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

This is by far the best guitar I've ever played. I was at the store, and I played 10 Gibson Les Pauls and countless Fender Strats and Teles, all through the same amp (so tht the results I got weren't based on the amp's sound instead of the Guitar's.) and all I cansay is that this one blew every last one of them away. The neck was flawless, the Floyd functioned perfectly, the pickups were a force to be reckoned with, and the looks were amazing. I reccomend this guitar to anyone who wants the best guitar ever, and for cheap.

        Truly Deserves 5 Star Rating

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Jr. V Electric Guitar:

Look, I spent a considerable amount of time writing an in-depth review for this guitar only to find out I exceeded the limit (yes, I?m aware it?s ironic that I?m wasting space telling you this, but I digress). To the point: This guitar is well worth the money. I spent over a year trying out guitars of different persuasions and this guitar is by far the most bang for your buck. On top of that it?s a great guitar in its own right. I was skeptical due to BC Rich?s questionable reputation in regards to quality/playability. I had even tried the DLXJRVO Deluxe Jr. V and was not impressed. But with this thing you can honestly put your fears to rest. It is amazing. The features speak for themselves and cannot be found on any other guitar for under $1,000 (that I could find). The playability is incredible and the sound is too. BC Rich really seems to be putting forth a serious effort to regain its reputation and they've succeeded immensely with this guitar.
