OVERVIEW

A radical silhouette, neck-through design and adjustable bridge.

The list of Warlock players is as long as B.C. Rich's history. It is this storied history that places the Warlock high on the iconic guitar shelf. The NJ Series Warlock Electric Guitar is an ideal choice if you're ready to step up the ladder to one of the more deluxe B.C. Rich models and stay within budget.

This Warlock has all of the features that performing rockers crave for great tone and playability. The mahogany body is built with neck-through construction and a maple neck for snappy sustain. It has a rosewood fretboard that's super smooth with a comfortable 12" radius and 24 jumbo frets. B.C. Rich pickups produce the tones you seek via a 3-way switch, dual volume controls and a master tone. Chrome hardware includes a Classic Quad adjustable bridge and die-cast tuners. Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Retro Mockingbird Electric Guitar:

I got mine for a really good price. Not sure it's even worth typing this up because it's discontinued, but mine came with the bridge holes not drilled in the right place so it's a been hard getting the intonation set up right. I went all out, bought new pickups and a Baby Grand bridge just to be disappointed with a defective guitar. I'm going to keep it anyway. I do really like the guitar. Maybe later on I'll have a different bridge installed and get a nice paint job by someone who knows what they're doing.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Retro Mockingbird Electric Guitar:

Nice guitar if Mockingbirds are your thing. The finish is beautiful, seems to be solidly built. Pots and switch feel solid, tuners are smooth. The bad - the nut is cut so low that the strings buzz when played open. The action is ridiculously low, which is great if you're a shredder (I'm not), but the buzzing open strings are intolerable. I tried to shim the nut and that helped of course, but I'm probably going to end up taking it to my guitar guy and getting the nut replaced. Kind of ridiculous to have to do this on a brand new guitar!! Where is the quality control? It would be nice if the folks here at M.F. would give their guitars a good once-over before shipping them out, but I suppose they are a high-volume operation and simply can't afford that type of thing. That said, I got a killer deal on the guitar, so I don't feel so bad about having to put some money into to get it to play the way it should. If I had paid full price, it would be going back for sure. Aside from all that, the pickups are super hot - not terribly muddy, but hotter than I prefer. Particularly the neck pickup. But that's a subjective thing, your mileage my vary. Overall a nice axe for the price, but you might have to do some tweaking on it if you get one that wasn't properly set up.
