Comments about Bedell Performance MB-18-G Orchestra Acoustic Guitar:

Ditto to everything Kyle said. The fit and finish on my sample is near perfect: a real beauty with flawless bookmatched woods and inlay. No set up was needed. The action is just high enough for playing slide in open D tunings with 12-54 strings. While the MB-18-G is pretty loud for a smaller body, the sound has a slightly compressed edge to it that gives intense strumming real punch. I fingerpick exclusively and appreciate the fact that no tone is sacrificed for a deadening pick guard. I'm 100% sold on Bedell Performance Series guitars now and hope to pick up one of the all-mahogany parlor models eventually.

    Bedell MB-18

    By Kyle Gertridge

Comments about Bedell Performance MB-18-G Orchestra Acoustic Guitar:

After playing just about every acoustic in my local Sunset Strip shops I decided to take a shot at this Bedell based on the features for the price point and some glowing reviews on-line and on youtube. I was in the market for a 000 sized guitar and got it down between this, the Martin OM-1GT and a Guild GAD. In terms of pure sound, this guitar blew away both the Martin and the Guild with an extremely balanced and sweet, smooth tone that I felt was very unique. It didn't sound like a Martin or a Takamine or a Taylor or anything else I had played but rather had a voice all it's own. It is plenty loud for it's size and sounds fantastic playing fingerstyle and is right at home with folky strumming. In addition to sounding so good (sometimes I just want to strum chords and hold it up to my ear) the build quality and appearance are amazing. The woods used are beautiful and the finish really makes the grain and subtle quilting in the top shine. I loved the details right away because they were subtle, but obviously of high quality. The maple binding, wood rosette, center stripe on back, heel cap, end block, and fine line fingerboard accent shout quality without being in your face flashy.

I picked mine up lightly used on craiglist with a fishman matrix infinity pup installed (excellent recorded tone) and have barely put it down for three weeks. It's the kind of instument that makes you want to get home and play. And when you do you'll sound and feel good.
