OVERVIEW

The classic jumbo of cowboys and country western with astonishing refinements.

The Blueridge BG-2500 is the first in the Classic ˜30's Super-Jumbo pattern. At 17" in the lower bout and a 21" body length, you're sure to get big, booming tones. The BG-2500 is the flagship of Bluridge's BG Series and features choice flamed solid maple and narrow-grained solid spruce for superior looks and tone. The beautiful tortoise-style pickguard is eye catching, the pearl inlays in the fingerboard, bridge and peghead offer rich detail, and the natural finish gives a subtle flair.

Comments about Blueridge BG-2500 Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

I love flamed maple guitars. Not just the absolute beauty of the wood, but the bright warm tone. I sold my Martin HD-28V to search for a more playable and brighter sounding guitar; this is it. I like the fact that this guitar is ten times more beautiful to look at, what with all the inlays and gorgeous high quality solid woods (mine lived up to the description completely) and the construction was flawless, but they made it to play. When you thump the bass strings it responds with authority, but the overall tone is just bright and warm like sittin in front of the fireplace. I guess Saga and Blueridge are trying to win market share by giving bang for the buck and they have my interest. Even though I had to buy a Gator Jumbo case from MF too, this guitar is more eye-pleasing and touch friendly at about half the price of the Martin that I sold to get it. I was afraid to plop down the money for this one thinking it might be over-hyped, but I did good and it was just what I hoped it would be. The only thing that surprised me was the neck. It is great flamed maple and plays just fine, but it is a handful. I play a lot of V necks for the "chunky" feel and this one is man-sized. I like this guitar!

Comments about Blueridge BG-2500 Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

I picked up the Blueridge BG2500 and am very happy I did. I sold my Martin D41 & Gibson Songwriter Deluxe in search of a brighter crisp sound. I wasn't concerned with quality because I've owned a BR1060. It was a great sounding quality axe. The BG2500 is beautiful to look at and visually it is extremely warm with the aged wood. My guitar played great out of the box. I am going to replace the bridge pins with bone pins & also the saddle. After the adjustments, it will be even better. The main reason I bought the axe is because over the years I've lost a lot of my hearing. I'm happy to say that this guitar is very loud. You would expect to fork over twice the price asked for this guitar so it's a great value. I've heard people say, "a Chinese guitar?" But you have to try one before knocking it.

Comments about Blueridge BG-2500 Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

I AB'd this guitar with my Gibson SJ-200 and Guild F50. This Blueridge is definitely in the same league and in no way a step down. Very sturdy, stunning to look at, and deep rich LOUD sound. I also like the baseball bat neck. Gives you lots of support for hours of playing. Put mediums on this thing and blow out the banjos. The Gator Jumbo case fits it perfectly.

Comments about Blueridge BG-2500 Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

I am a singer/songwriter with too many jumbo guitars. I own a fancy blueridge acoustic/electric that plays well and feels good, but just doesn't deliver the unamplified volume I desire. So, I thought I'd give this new model a try.Wow, was I surprised! Nice balance, playability and big booming bass. I think this instrument is better than most J-200's I've owned and played (where's the ebony fingerboard and bridge on a $4500.00 Gibson?).It compares favorably with maple Guilds and at about half the price of an old one. Just no case. Sad!

Comments about Blueridge BG-2500 Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar:

I would have called myself essentially a beginner in December, (however with years of experience on the piano). I started to teach myself guitar via Youtube. By June, I was playing a fairly easy classical song on my very old classical guitar in the classical position. I had a steel string, but it felt somehow flimsy and insecure on my lap, (I am a finger picker) and I felt stuck with holding either guitar in the classical position for stability. (which just doesn't look right at all with a steel string). I happened upon the BG-2500 in a shop near me, and instantly I was holding it the way you hold a steel string guitar. I am a slender, medium height female, and I can't explain it, but this big guitar just "stays put" for finger style playing. The neck feels wonderful in my hand, the sound is of course beautiful, the looks of it are unique and gorgeous, and after 20 minutes with it, I bought it! Oh do I love it. I play at least an hour a day. I know this is not considered exactly the guitar for a finger picker, (although I'm not sure why that is), but I can't imagine a guitar feeling better on my lap than this large beauty that feels so smooth and solid. I am now half way through with learning Classical Gas, and even Tommy Emmanuel's Lewis and Clark. Did having this substantial guitar make all the difference? I think so.
