Comments about Blueridge BR-180A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is my second review on the Blue Ridge 180A. Now that I have had this guitar for some time I have had an issue with it. The neck developed an ever increasing up bow that I have now finally stopped with several truss rod adjustments. I have the neck straight but the frets are no longer level. I was going to lower the action when I originally received the guitar but life got in the way and I'm glad it did. I'm going to give the guitar a few more months to settle in and then I will level the frets and lower the action. I would suggest anyone who buys one of these guitars play it for a while before making any action changes. It seems these guitars have some growing to do before they settle in to their final positions. I still love the tone of the guitar though and I believe when it is all settled and finally adjusted to my action tastes, it will be my main recording guitar.

Comments about Blueridge BR-180A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

After the 2008 crash I sold my Martin DC Aura to make a mortgage payment and Martin doesn't make that model any more. :( Because of that, I looked for other alternatives in a higher end dreadnought guitar. I found the reviews on the Blue Ridge BR-180A and was impressed with the comments and the price. I now have one in my hands and all I can say is this is a lot of guitar for the money. This guitar is as well built as my Martin was and sounds just as good to me. The only two things that would make it better are if it came with a case and if it had a high end Fishman pickup and preamp. I know the cutaway version has that, but I really didn't want a cutaway this time. I will be adding a pickup of some kind soon. I am really excited about recording this guitar. It really sounds great and has a well balanced tone and great volume. There is plenty of bottom end for me and I am playing country and bluegrass with it. I'll be ordering a case for it soon to. This is a great buy in a D45 style dreadnought. Workmanship is excellent. I'm proud to own it and I'm pleased to have an extra thousand clams still in the bank over what I'd have if I had purchased another Martin. Nice job Saga Music and Blue Ridge.

Comments about Blueridge BR-180A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Guitar has very rich tone and feels very well. It is very responsive for flat picking and strumming. But also very good for finger picking. I like it very much. It is also very fine designed with abalone. It definitely inspired by Martin D-45 but I cannot compare them - these are just two different guitars.
It also intonates very well although its bone bridge is not compensated.

The only issue is that "snowflake" abalone inlay at the first fret on my guitar was set too low into the fretboard and the level difference corrected with dark fretboard lacquer.
This does not affect on playability at all. It just does not shine that well as other inlays.
Nevertheless this guitar is just fantastic but you can expect some insignificant assembly issues.

Comments about Blueridge BR-180A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I own several acoustic guitars, but the BR180A is starting to become my "go to" guitar. At first I wasn't too sure . I dug the aesthetics of the instrument and it is a cannon for sure. When played in first position the response is super with great tone and I love the bass response. I've had it about 3 months now and it is beginning to open up, and reveal it's "personality". When played further up the neck it becomes a little more difficult to play, and bar chords become challenging, but a different set-up May help this. Over all it's a well constructed, beautiful guitar that sounds great and is great for country, folk, or bluegrass styles. I am pleased to have the Blueridge BR180A in my collection.

Comments about Blueridge BR-180A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This BR 180A,is THE BEST guitar I have ever owned, bar none. The rich, full sound, tons of sustain, mucho bass and the build quality, are top shelf......Other musicians have asked me what brand is it,where did I get it......When playing at jams,it's volume is so loud,it drowns out everybody else, and that is unplugged.I had a D tar Wavelength pickup installed,MAN,that thing amplified is a CANNON!!!Fit and finish are first rate, the abalone inlay ala' Martin D 45 on every mating surface is fantastic,REAL ABALONE INLAY!!!.Guitar is produced in Asia, and for an imported guitar, the build quality and sound are RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!
