OVERVIEW

Classic styling and vintage tone at an old-fashioned price.

The Blueridge BR-60 acoustic guitar from the Contemporary series features a Sitka spruce top, with rosewood back, sides, and peghead overlay. Prewar forward X-pattern bracing delivers tone and volume just like vintage dreadnought guitars. Low-profile, carved mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. Beautiful touches like 5-ply body binding, multi-line rosette and backstrip, and mother-of-pearl dot inlays add to the Blueridge guitar's classic look. Stable, nickel-plated Kluson-style tuners ensure proper pitch.

If you've been searching for a Golden Era guitar that isn't priced like it's made of gold, then Blueridge guitars are for you. Reminiscent of fine American guitars built prior to WWI, Blueridge BR-60 guitar is made with the same techniques as their antique counterparts, including many by-hand processes.

Blueridge guitars are crafted to be light and resonant. Meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is evident in the traditional, forward-position, hand-carved parabolic X-bracing which allows the solid Spruce top to ring loud and true. The Blueridge BR-60 guitar feature a traditional dovetail neck joint, slim mahogany neck, adjustable truss rod, and butterbean-button, Kluson-style tuning machines with an updated mechanism for modern precision and feel. Includes limited lifetime warranty.

I was in a music store playing some high end guitars trying to find that Ideal sound. Everyone who plays knows that you don't ever find the right guitar looking. So I had a few Martin's laid out, some higher end Crafters, and few other guitars ranging 1000-3500. I was mostly looking for a Dreadnought. One after one I compared one against the other until it was between a Martin and this blueridge guitar I never heard of. The decision was rough, my head said hey buddy drop the dough and get this Martin ( After all its a freaking Martin). My brain was saying that the Blue Ridge sounded better. Well, I went called a friend who doesn't play. I said hey man Im going to play few licks and songs on these two guitars and you tell me which one you enjoy listening to the most. He repeatedly said the blue Ridge sounded better. So I got online ordered a Blue Ridge and case from MF and I am completely satisfied with it.

I must have got a bad one. It had four issues: 1. Fret buzz, especially on the high E from the 5th fret to the 13the fret. It buzzed everywhere, but mostly on the high E. 2. The bridge pins didn't fit. They just dropped in loosely and stayed loose. They wouldn't hold the strings in properly. I think the holes were drilled and beveled too big. 3. There were file nicks in the edge of the fretboard from careless filing. 4. It didn't hold tuning too well. Had to fiddle with the tuning all the time. I sent it back for a refund. It didn't sound too bad but the quality issues were more than I could deal with. Get what ya pay for I guess.

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

When i received this guitar from MF upon opening the box and unwrapping the guitar my first thought was this thing is gorgeous!!! Beautiful finish and not a flaw on it tho its a fairly inexpensive instrument. The action right out of the box was good tho i tend to like a really low action so i may drop the saddle a 32nd but it came with decent action and is easy to play. The voicing is absolutely wonderful and has gr8 sustain and intonation is spot on!!!! Usually i change out strings for Elixer nanoweb phosphour custom lights but these D'darios sound excellent on this instrument so im leaving them on for now. If you are new player or experienced you cant go wrong with purchasing this guitar its a winner in my book!!!

One of the best guitars you can buy. Holds its own against Martins and Taylor at half the price. Perfect across the board. The tone is absolutely incredible.

The guitar impressed me right out of the box. It was well set up, the strings were good and after tuning up it sounded great and the tuning is stable.
I'll be fitting a pickup to this baby and gigging with it. It's got excellent D28-like tone and dynamics are amazing. Strumming and flatpicking are this guitar's forte, but fingerpicking doeasn't lag far behind. Many guitars I've bought enjoyed a brief "Honeymoon" period and then became ordinary. Not this one. I'm totally thrilled with its Sound, Playability, good looks, great finish and quality components.
A guitar you buy and never sell.

Shopped for a guitar for about 8 months. I played everything I could get my hands on. From inexpensive to extremely expensive and every make and model in between. I finally settled on a BR-60. The sound quality, playability, and build quality were comparible to other high end guitars. All that along with the price, this is the best value on the market.

Blueridge BR-60 is a really good guitar

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Really noticed the quality of sound from this guitar out of the box. Tuned it up and it was ready to go. Sound to me is very comparable to much higher priced guitars. I just really love the guitar.....can't believe I waited so long to get it.
All features on the Blueridge BR-60 guitar are above average in my book. No complaints at all.
Great looking and more importantly a great sounding guitar. Out of the box this guitar sounded really good. In my mind there is not a better looking or sounding guitar in its price range. I did a good bit of homework prior to purchasing the Blueridge BR-60 and believe I have made the right choice.
Extremely reasonable for the quality of guitar I got.

Very Nice Guitar for the Money

              By Tabodee

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar as "fallback" guitar. Thought I might spare my Martin and Alvarez Yari a little longer if purchased this one. The tone and overall big sound of this guitar quickly won me over. It's now my "go-to" guitar. Even in the studio, this is my choice. I have put this guitar up against $2500 guitars, and it holds it ground with no trouble. I have since played several Blueidge guitars. I can honestly say I haven't a one I didn't like. Clear on the top end and big bottom on the low end. Each one played nicely right out of the box. Well worth trying out!!!
