OVERVIEW

Classic styling and vintage tone at an old-fashioned price.

The BR-60 features a solid Sitka spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back, sides, and peghead overlay. Pre-war bracing delivers tone and volume just like vintage dreadnoughts. Low-profile, carved mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. Beautiful touches like 5-ply body binding, multi-line rosette and backstrip, and mother-of-pearl dot inlays add to the classic look. Stable, nickel-plated Kluson-style tuners ensure proper pitch.

If you've been searching for a Golden Era guitar that isn't priced like it's made of gold, then Blueridge guitars are for you. Reminiscent of fine American guitars built prior to WWI, Blueridge guitars are made with the same techniques as their antique counterparts, including many by-hand processes.

Like the best instruments, Blueridge guitars aren't overbuilt; they're crafted to be light and resonant. Meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is evident in the traditional, forward-position, hand-carved parabolic X-bracing which allows the solid Spruce top to ring loud and true. Blueridge guitars feature a traditional dovetail neck joint, slim mahogany neck, adjustable truss rod, and butterbean-button, Kluson-style tuning machines with an updated mechanism for modern precision and feel.

Suprised, and Satisfied.

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have been looking for a good all aroung guitar. Something with a low action and good playabilty, good tone, and adequate volume. I have been researching for nearly three months, playing a variety of guitars from Martins, Taylors, and Takamines, to name a few. I did not play any guitar that rivals the Blueridge BR-60. I need a guitar that sonds good while playing alone, but with enough volume to hold its own in a good jam session. Everyone who has played this guitar agrees that the tone and playablity is amazing. Not to mention an amazing price, compared to comprable guitars. I am a very satisfied customer, and hope to get years of playing out of my newest instrument.

Great Choice

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have had my BR60 for 1 1/2 yrs now. This was my upgrade. I am so pleased this was the best move I could have made.I'm just starting out this is my third year playing and with no lessons. This guitar is so easy to play the neck is just the right size and the action is very smooth.I use the capo alot because I mostly play with 2 other guitars so I play alot down on the 5th and 7th frets and there is no buzzing or anything down that low.Thats saying alot because I only play rythm and I strum pretty hard sometimes.I play fender 60L strings which sound good but I think I'm going up to 70L to get more sound and get that bottom E string a touch heavier.I recommend the BR60 to anyone getting started or been playing for years. I took mine back to the music store the other week to get the neck adjusted because of the weather and the store owner played it like it should be played and it sounded awesom.

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

You won't believe this guitar! I have owned a Martin D28 since the late 70's and I can tell you this guitar has it beat. Great balance, great tone, easy to play, great workmanship, 1st rate Grade A materials and a price that will make you want to buy 2 or 3. I would also put it up there with some of the best Taylor guitars. And Brazilian Rosewood!!!???I'll probably sell my Martin because I don't play it any more. How's that for a plug?

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I bought one in 1988 and still own it. I put a Fishman pickup under the saddle and used it on stage. This is by far my favorite accoustic. I own other more expensive guitars, but this one fits my hands and ears just right. The inlay on the headstock is different than on my BR-60 but this one still the same great resonance and tone.

BR-60 is an amazing value

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Got a new BR-60 a year ago when I began taking lessons, and appreciate this guitar more and more every day. As others have said, the quality, sound and playability are superb - people can't believe what I paid for it. I marked the features down slightly because I think cheap black pickguards are ugly (replaced with tortoise shell), the bridge pins need replacing, and I'd prefer if the white plastic binding looked more like ivoroid. Other Bridgestones have an overly busy headstock inlay - this one is more subdued and elegant. My set of tuners stay in tune, and it sounds good with either light or medium strings. Very light and resonant - in the case it feels like there's no guitar inside.

Just Right

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have been playing more than 50 years and I own 2Martins, a D28 and a D16. I was looking for a lower priced guitar that would be in the same category as the Martins. I was surprised just how close the sound and quality of this instrument came. It's just right for what I got it for.

br-60 Great Value.

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have had a couple of Yamaha's and a very old Alvarez and was looking for something a little better. I played the Taylors, Martins and Breedloves at the local guitar stores but didn't really like the sound of the $500 to $1500 models. I read the reviews on the Blueridge and thought I would take a chance. I have been very pleased with this guitar. The tone and action is as good as any $1,000 guitar. What is especially nice is the tone when barring cords up the neck. It stays very clear.

Comments about Blueridge BR-60 Contemporary Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

If I was given the choice between a new gibson or a new blueridge, I would choose the blueridge with no hesitation. Everything feels right with these guitars. Sometimes, out of the box, they need a little work with the setup (adjusting the saddle, or sanding some frets, etc.) but overall they guitars are wonderfully build and sound great.
