Comments about Blueridge BR-63 Contemporary Series 000 Acoustic Guitar:
I have been playing on an older Sigma for about four years, and recently purchased the BR-63. Having messed around with a bunch of different guitars, I decided that I liked the 000 style and went for the Blueridge, although I hadn't heard much about the brand. I'll be the first to review the BR-63...
I think this is a great guitar for a novice to intermediate player who isn't intent on spending a lot of money, and enjoys jamming and just having fun playing their guitar. The sound is rewarding and consistent (mostly). I would have liked a guitar with solid back and sides, but I am satisfied with the sound so far, and hopefully it just gets better with age.
Regarding the construction, as with some other Blueridge reviews, I have to say that the neck has more than one spot where the finish could be better. I also had to have the neck adjusted twice, but that was more because of the changes in humidity the guitar experienced after I moved it from a dry to humid climate. Thirdly, it feels a bit fragile, but I guess that comes with a combination wood/laminate design and a small body style. But that's the end of my criticism.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and continue to enjoy playing this pretty guitar. Again, the style is to my liking and it sounds pretty good when you take care of it. I would recommend it to a young player like myself. I think I will end up keeping mine for a while and holding onto it as a backup/jam guitar when I need a change of pace from whatever I'm playing in the future.
