This is one of the best acoustic guitars I've played. For the first time ever, the out of the box set-up was fantastic. I just changed to my favorite strings and that's it. This is one of the loudest dreds I've played. I absolutely love the heavy lows and crystal like highs that this guitar creates. It seems that most people go for guitars with a stronger midrange sound. If you want something that will give haunting lows with great overtones, this is the one. The cosmetics are very nice. I like the herringbone body binding better than the abolone on the BR-180. Pictures of the headstock inlay seemed gaudy until I saw them in person. The inlays are actually very nice. The only negatives are that the tuners should be upgraded to 18:1's instead of the 14:1's that come stock. And what's up guitar companys not installing a strap button at the heel? I don't like tying a strap to the headstock and it's annoying to have to pay extra to install one strap button. Overall it's become my favorite acoustic by far.
I recently purchased a Blueridge BR160CE with deluxe hardshell case. From the moment I strummed my first chord, I was overwhelmed by the deep, rich tones that rang out from the guitar...and when I plugged into my Fender Acoustasonic 30 amp, it was everything I had hoped for and more. The craftsmanship is totally top-notch....not a flaw to be found. Alot of my guitar-playing friends talk about "breaking in" a new guitar.....this one felt perfect right from the start, and the "historic" aged wood look with herringbone trim is breath-taking. I'm 63 years old and I've owned countless high-end instruments over the last 40-50 years, but this one is the proverbial "keeper!"
This guitar is a absolute joy to play.I have spent thousands of dollers trying to find the one guitar that feels and sounds like this one. Although I have the BR160 it is made the same just without the cutaway and pickup.Blueridge guitars are exactly what they clam to be!It's tone and playability are exceptional!! Try one out I promise you won't be sorry. Great job Blueridge!!!!
