Review of Blueridge (BR-70) Guitar

By Stan the Guitar Man

from Statesville, NC

Comments about Blueridge Contemporary Series BR-70 Adirondack Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I purchased the BR-70 about 9 months ago and have been very satisfied with it. From the first time I picked it up I have been amazed with the quality of this instrument. I have other fine name brand guitars but I seldom play any of them because I always go back to the BR-70. I play and sing gospel music using acoustic instruments "plugged in" and this guitar is perfect for what we do. I had an LR Baggs pick-up installed and plug straight into the sound system with very little "tweaking" and get a very good acoustic sound. Again, this guitar is a joy to play!!

Have good faith.

Comments about Blueridge Contemporary Series BR-70 Adirondack Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have been looking at Blueridge guitars for about a year. My local music shop exclusively stocks a wide range of BR guitars and swears by them. As I was on my quest to find "the" acoustic guitar that I knew I would be happy with, I played many different guitars of all types. I even got my hands on a few Martin D-28's and a Gibson or 2. Many of which did sound amazing and they sang very nice but the price tag on most of them was just heart cringing. But every time I came back to that BR shop, I picked up one and it would blow me away how rich and bright the tone would be. And what really spun my head was after hearing how great the tone was, seeing the price was even more of a shock! There are lots of negative reviews about this Brand, mainly because they are made in China. Well, people said the same thing about Honda cars when they first hit the market, and look at them now. When you buy a Martin, you are buying a history book and over priced American workmanship. They could very well sell their Martins and Gibson?s in this price range and be ok. Until then, I can spend a fraction of their price and buy a guitar that sounds just as good or better. If you choose a Blueridge, you won?t be disappointed, period. This Model 70 is the one I finally chose last week, and I?m glad I did. The vintage burst is beautiful, along with the wood grain. The abalone shimmers all around the guitar stealing looks and earning complements. Great craftsmanship and TONE. This guitar is loud, full bass and crisp highs.
