OVERVIEW

Prewar construction with all solid tonewoods, intricate inlays and ebony fingerboard.

The BR-240A offers traditional sound and feel at prewar prices. Crafted with a select solid Adirondack spruce top, hand-carved X-bracing, choice solid mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, and a traditional dovetail neck joint for pure Golden Era tone. 18-style binding and inlay work along with a floral-design pearl inlay on the headstock and aged finish complete the vintage look. The slim mahogany neck and traditional dreadnought body make it a truly enjoyable guitar to play. The Prewar Series offers authentic vintage style with strict adherence to prewar instrument specifications.

Blueridge is an offshoot of the South San Francisco-based Saga Musical Instrument Company. Blueridge specializes in "traditional" guitars that offer today's player vintage styling with modern performance at a level of quality and price that compares favorably to historic guitars. Each instrument is the result of detailed research and is carefully crafted at the Blueridge factory. Consistency is evident throughout, from the fretwork to the intricate inlays that adorn each Blueridge headstock.

Comments about Blueridge Prewar Series BR-240A Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Sides are a 2 piece join reinforced with internal cleats which adds weight to the instrument. Amazing that there was not enough mahogany to make 1 piece sides but will waste a hole slab of mahogany to carve the neck and head stock out of.
Tuners work well. Good set up overall.
Also there is too much banjo style inlay bling on the head stock. But that's a minor whinge.
      It's a great dreadnought.

Comments about Blueridge Prewar Series BR-240A Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

After a few years of research I found the guitar I wanted. Thanks Blueridge and Musician's Friend. When I started playing acoustics I couldn't tell flamed maple from rosewood or a dreadnaught from a parlor style. After trying them all I have chosen this one. I like mahogany for the tone and this one is solid SELECT mahogany, two good words for guitar wood. I like spruce tops for the clarity and projection and this one is a beautiful Adirondack spruce, a prized wood. I like a little more room on the fingerboard and this one has a wider nut. I like fancy without too gaudy and this one has a very nice headstock inlay. Mostly I like a guitar that frets and plays easily and really projects sound with warmth and authority; this is the one for me. I agonized over selling my high end Martin and getting a foreign made guitar, but this instrument is the end result of getting past advice and prejudice and experimentation and getting all the things I want in a guitar. Good luck in your search.

Comments about Blueridge Prewar Series BR-240A Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I hate when snobbs say this is a good guitar for the money. This is a great guitar and is worth as much as any guitar out there. I have owned guitars costing thousands and they were not a bit better sounding and this one plays better.
