Comments about Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I have been playing guitar for many years now and have just recently been entertaining the idea of performing at local venues. As such, I was in the market for an electric acoustic guitar that was easy to play live. I am not a big person, so I originally bought an Ovation with a super shallow back. After experiencing several problems with warped necks (in only 4 years and I kept great care of the instruments, cool low humidity room etc.) I decided to try another brand. My friends sister recommended Breedlove. I played the Atlas series guitar that she owns and I was instantly hooked. Although the Atlas was great, I wanted to look into a series that was a "step up" in quality.
I looked at Taylor and Martin but to get a comparable instrument you would be paying a lot more money. The American series was my answer, and oh how good of an answer it was! This guitar feels great to play and there is very little sound quality lost because of its smaller body. The sound is amazing and I love the low-end tones. I am constantly taken aback by how nice this guitar is for finger picking. I would recommend this guitar 10 times out of 10.

Comments about Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Definitely worth checking out; even better if you can get it on a sale. The tone is wonderful---hard to believe it's coming from a concert-sized body. Yet Breedlove is known for nice bass tones and clear highs---and they accomplished it with this model! Must be because of their JLD Truss System. And the Cedar/Rosewood is a great combination tor excellent tone.
A nice product, made in America. Well done, Breedlove!
Lightweight, excellent wood combination in rosewood and cedar for great sound. Gloss finish, which is nicer than satin. Very nice hardshell case with lot of latches and a key lock, too(but I wish the printed 'Breedlove' spanning the side of the case in gold lettering was not there).
Very clean inside and out; I would have liked gold tuners, but they don't affect the sound. Action and intonation right on. Hard to believe but it produces a vintage, woody sound with clear highs and balanced bass---sounds sort of like a Gibson J45, yet more defined and clear in it's tonality. I like the LR Baggs pickup system...sounds great through my Fishman Loudbox 100 acoustic amp.
This guitar is not necessarily a 'cannon' unplugged, but then again it doesn't have to be. The sound is very pleasing and unique, with personality. This is a great fingerstyle guitar and comfortable to play.
You get a vintage tone(kind of like a Gibson J45 as I mentioned) but with a striking modern design that is the Breedlove visual 'signature'.
A bit pricey, but Taylors cost much more in this category so the Breedlove is competitive for an American made product.
Comments about Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Here's my test....I have had this guitar for about a month. I play it every day...AND I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN!
A fantastic guitar which is simple yet elegant. Not overly fancy, but very functional for the active musician. Every time I pick it up, I smile. The neck is shallow and wide for fast playing. Good tone across lows, mids and highs. I have the LR Baggs Anthem installed, and it sounds incredible. The action is very good. A tad lower than a Martin and similar to a Taylor....a lot lower than any Gibson I have ever played. I like the string-through bridge as opposed to using pins. One trick for stringing this baby....bend the tip of the string to get it to easily go through the bridge and out at the correct angle.
Clean workmanship through and through. Not much bling....just what works.
Not a bad price...but hey...we all would like everything a bit less expensive. It will blow away any Martin or Taylor in the price range. And Gibson's....well, they sound good but play like rocks.
Comments about Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I've played many guitars from Taylor 700models to Martin D(just about everything) and I will say that this guitar is somewhere in between a Taylor 714 and a Martin HD 28. I say this because it has the deep clarity of the Martin and the smooth richness(not to bright though) of the Taylor. This is actually a perfect blend of the two brands. This guitar is clear from the highs to the lows and you can hear all of the colors in the strum. There are no dead spots. I repeat, there are no dead spots. I originally purchasd a Taylor 410 but returned it because it was way too bright and shallow. So I looked at this one and although it's only a couple of hundred dollars more, it sounds like it's a couple of thousand more. Play this guitar against any high end guitar in the store and you'll see what I'm talking about. The guitar is, like the Taylor, very forgiving on the chords as well. I absolutely love this guitar and would recommend it to anyone who is serious about their sound. Oh and the pickup gives it the plugged sound you'd hope for in a plugged instrument. I think you'll love this guitar.
Comments about Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Can't say enough about this guitar. I absolutely love it. I've played Martins, Taylors, etc., and none of those have anything on Breedlove. The church has a nice Taylor (which I like very much), but I love this Breedlove even more! The tone is excellent and the quality and finish is superb. The neck is very comfortable, especially for someone like myself that doesn't have large hands (I'd say average). The action and feel of the neck are very comfortable, and play more like my American Deluxe Strat than any acoustic I've ever seen. I sold a Takamine to upgrade to this bad boy and it's the best guitar decision I've ever made (like the way the 'Tak' looked and sounded, but hated the feel of the neck and body).
The LR Baggs pickup system produces a very nice clean/natural sound. Very nice (but wish the volume and tone controls weren't inside the sound hole).
The only thing that kept me from cranking out a 10 on the features is related to the pickup system. The battery for the preamp is in a small pouch inside the sound hole. So, digging in the sound hole to pull out that pouch (held the back of the body by Velcro) is a bit of a pain in the butt, but something I'm more than willing to put up with in light of the quality (build, finish, and sound) of this awesome axe. If you had large hands, this would definitely be more of a problem than it is for me.
If you're in the market for an awesome acoustic, chose Breedlove - you won't regret it!
Comments about Breedlove American Series C25/CRe, Herringbone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I just received mine today. This is an outstanding value! 100% USA!!! The guitar is very well crafted, albeit, minimal appointments. However, the sound is all there! It is loud and full sounding. The highs are stellar. Very clear and pronounced with the midrange being warm (cedar). The bass is tight, not booming. For an all hardwood (no laminates) guitar, solid mahogany neck, and LR Braggs electronics (again minimal but totally functional). This guitar outperforms the D-18 or a 310 on up. After all, Kim Breedlove left Taylor to pursue his own tonal quest. By the way, Taylor's necks are 3 pieces of wood glued together. The Breedlove is a solid piece of mahogany. LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!! It also has one of the best hard-shell cases I have ever seen.

This thing sings like no other. I shopped numerous big guitar shops and played many many higher priced taylors, gibson, martin etc. The tone blew me away as soon as i I picked it up. Great design innovation and quality.
