From Breedlove guitars comes a series that is 100% true red-white-and-blue American. The American series guitars are built in Bend, Oregon using quality materials from the USA—no parts or designs were shipped to or from other countries. These guitars represent the true American spirit, using quality parts and Breedlove's famous craftsmanship, producing instruments that will stand the test of time and look and sound absolutely beautiful in the process.
The American Series OM/SM acoustic guitar features an Orchestra Model (OM) shape, with strong lower midranges and versatile dynamics. Built with a smaller length, depth, and waist compared to the popular dreadnought body, this Breedlove guitar is popular for acoustic and fingerstyle players.
The solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides offer balanced, full-range tone with lots of clear projection. The rosewood fingerboard, and the one-piece mahogany neck produce rich clarity from note to note. The Breedlove OM/SM acoustic guitar's 25-1/2" scale, 1-3/4" nut width, and 16" radius offer comfort for intricate finger movements, and the gloss finish adds a high-end shine. The bridge truss system stiffens bridge and relaxes soundboard to maximize sustain and resonate freely. The rosewood "belly" bridge and scalloped "Pre-War" X-bracing artfully balances string-to-top energy. These design elements yield abundant overtones, complexity, body resonance, and note-for-note swell—ideal for creating natural effects, single note complexity, and orchestral chording.
All Breedlove Custom Shop steel-string guitars (except for the Revival Series), Pro Series and Atlas Series guitars use the JLD Bridge Truss system. This device is a cantilevered truss that helps to counterbalance string tension at the bridge, creating a relaxed top and improved structural integrity. This allows the tops to be braced in a very progressive way, with a focus on realizing the full acoustic potential of the top. A relaxed top provides maximal wavelength response and a synergy is created by use of a graduated top thickness, balanced scalloped bracing, and a pinless bridge in combination with the bridge truss system. This gives Breedlove guitars the distinctive and highly dynamic "Breedlove Sound", with a piano-like bass and a remarkably well-balanced tone suitable for a broad variety of musical styles.
Other appointments on the Breedlove American guitar include black body binding, American abalone rosette, single-action soundhole adjustable truss rod, one-piece mahogany neck, pearl dot position markers, and Gotoh vintage style open-back tuners.

I bought this guitar primarily to use for recording as an alternative to the boominess of a dreadnought through a large condenser mic. I also hoped it would add warmth in the upper midrange for recording finger style playing. It works well on both accounts, but what I didn't expect was this guitar to be so well rounded. It is fast becoming my favorite. The setup out of the box was spot on after tuning. The intonation is great and the action allows for many different playing styles, yet is very comfortable. The case is VERY sturdy and well padded.Something else that I did not expect was the high quality of the woods used. The top is a very nicely grained Sitka spruce and the mahogany used in the back and sides is beautiful with a grain pattern usually reserved for more expensive guitars. My next surprise was in the tonal quality of the instrument. The overall tone I expected is there but there is a nice sustain and resonance that make this guitar sing out. The guitar is bright without being overly so, and the base is subdued from a dreadnought but it is deep and tight and works well with the proximity effect from condenser microphones. Before buying this guitar I tried out similar guitars from the major brands including guitars that cost almost three times as much. None of those guitars had the combination of tonal balance and playability that this guitar has.Breedlove is currently making instruments with exceptional build quality and a very high bang for the buck. I played two dozen Breedlove guitars before deciding on this one and they all were well made and set-up nice. The overall quality of the Breedlove Guitars I played was such that I had no reservations at all about ordering my guitar online from Musician's Friend. This was the first time I have ever bought an acoustic guitar without playing it first.Awesome job Breedlove!!Musician's Friend Shipped my guitar the same day I ordered it and it arrived on time. Thanks MF and UPS.
