No matter what name you put on it, the Breedlove Atlas Series AD200/SM Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar is a solid acoustic foundation you can build your sound on. The AD200/SM -- keystone of the Atlas Series dreadnoughts -- features a solid Sitka spruce top for resonant and clear sound and a comfortable, slim neck shape and low action for smooth playability. This Atlas Series guitar model combines innovative Breedlove design elements with quality construction. Features mahogany back and sides, a black bound body and neck, abalone rosette with black border, pearl dot inlays, satin finish, and chrome Grover tuners.

Breedlove crafts acoustic instruments that reflect the principles of uncompromising craftsmanship, environmental consciousness, and customer focus. The best aspects of traditional guitar making are fused with new ideas and relevant technology to create instruments with unsurpassed tone, feel, and visual appeal.

Each spectacular guitar in the Atlas Series is designed and engineered to attain these same qualities at an accessible price. They feature scalloped bracing, a pinless bridge, a dual-action truss rod, and the JLD Bridge Truss System. The bridge, fingerboard, and peghead overlay on each model is made from Indian rosewood and tops are crafted from solid wood. They have an ebony end pin, dovetail neck joint, and a slightly narrower nut (1-11/16"). All Atlas Series guitars have the same low string action for fast, comfortable playing. They're all set up and hand-inspected at Breedlove headquarters and come strung with light-gauge D'Addario EXP strings.

    It's become my favorite

    By Jeff-KvoWc

    from Newark DE

I purchased a Breedlove AD200/SM about a year ago, a purely impulse purchase during a guitar sale at a local store. This no-frills on the surface seemed to have a great sound with old, old strings, wonderful low action, and the intonation was close to perfect. With new strings (Elixer 11's), the tone and resonance of this guitar was beautiful to play and hear. After a few months, I had a local luthier installed an under saddle pickup, and electrified the instrument is comparable to guitars priced at 10X the price. The bridge width makes it a fingerpicker's dream. After nine months of settling, it needed a truss rod adjustment (normal settling on a new acoustic), and the action returned to stellar! My luthier was thrilled with this guitar, saying he has never seen anything close to this come out of Korea before. Breedlove has their act together. This guitar is a pure delight!

Breedlove Atlas Series AD200/SM Acoustic Guitar

tone is fantastic. I play with very light martin fingerstyle strings and have a rich mellow sound (very full).Had this guitar for about 4 years now and have loved it.I had a problem finding a hard case to fit the body and neck but you can get one from breedlove now.YOU WILL LOVE THIS GUITAR.

    FANTASTIC Guitar!

    By Jacob-Klh3c

    from North Georgia

Hands down, Breedlove makes the BEST acoustics in the world. I bought THIS guitar, one of the low-end Breedloves, and it will outplay any Martin around. The tone of the guitar is extremely full; the entire range sounds great. Action is nice and low and very playable, and the tuners that it ships with - I believe are Grovers, but I'm not sure - keep things in tune very well. The only thing that I do not like about this guitar, which really isn't a con, it's just the guitar model, is that it doesn't have a cutaway. This can be resolved by buying the slightly nicer version of this model that's a little bit more expensive. Bottom line, just buy this acoustic guitar. Whether you've been playing for forty years or this is your first one, I will be amazed if you can find a better guitar for this price.

    Great Guitar

    By D-man-.LlSu

    from Northern California

I have played guitar for a long time, many styles. I got the Breedlove AD200/SM about 8 months ago and am very pleased with it. It's satin finish is very simple, but it is really a fine instrument. I did lower the action slightly at the saddle, and have switched to more comfortable LaBella strings (the D'Addario sounded great though). Excellent tone, sustain, playability; it's a great guitar.

    what else to say

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

What else can I say that hasn't already been said? I've had the AD200 for about a year, and I couldn't be happier with it. It just begs to be played, has a great feel and great sound -- at least as good as Martins double its price. The Atlas is at the top of its class, well worth the price for this beautifully-crafted piece.

    Review

    By It'sNotMe

I spent a lot of time with this guitar when shopping. Ended up with a Martin, but not sure I made the right choice. Nothing even close to it's sound in this price range.

    I own it

I have played lots of guitars and can't stand most after getting my Martin OOOM. I wasn't familiar with this brand. I played most of the Atlas series and "settled" on the cheapest one. If you want the best tone for the price, this is it. Breedlove has an intersting bracing under the bridge that I have never seen before. This model had a brighter sound than the more expensive Altas Breedloves. The headstock has a point at the top that didn't let me put it into an older case I already had. I like Seagull and Martin guitars as well. I would recommend Breedlove though for the money to anyone.

    Wonderful

    By David-8E8.g

    from Omaha, NE

I was going back and forth between this guitar and the Epiphone Masterbuilt EF-500R. I went with the Breedlove because not only does it sound incredible, but its a wonderful guitar to look at, and we all know that a good looking guitar inspires you to pick it up and play. the sound is beautiful, as well as the price. you can't go wrong for the money.

    Nice guitar for the money

    By Tom-tUvjn

    from germany

Great price, great sound. Only drawback is that it did not come set up as Breedlove advertised. the action is higher than I would have expected after reading the ad in GP.But this guitar is pretty. The rosette is very nice looking, the binding is nice. only better thing would be a tortoise pickgard v. black. My wife, a non guitar afficianado remarked "this is beautiful."Sounds great, looks very nice, and for this price, this guitar is a bargain. I only have to find a luthier to set it up a little lower.
