I bought an Ovation "Ultra" 100% American made brand new in 1985, and thought it was high time for a new guitar. I wanted an all wood piece that would give me the thunder-like lows that I love. Well, after a full year of searching, the search is over. I returned a Fender to a music store, played all of the Taylors (which I loved) sent back a Martin, and toyed with Gibson, but I couldn't get over the glowing reviews of this Breedlove Atlas AD25/SR PLUS. I didn't realize my local store even carried them until one day I went and there it was, in a featured display in the humidity controled acoustic room. After playing it for a couple minutes I knew the search had ended. I tuned down to "drop D" and play a little "World on a String" by Mr. Neil Young. I almost fell out of my chair, and the salesguy just looked at me with his mouth open. I think the fillings in my teeth loosened a little. Sweet and Low baby. Let me tell you, this sweetheart has the tone, fit, finish, quality of at least a $2500.00 guitar. Simply put, it is flawless. Even now as I sit at home looking at it, I can't believe I own this masterfully built creation by Breedlove, a brand I'd never even heard of. If you want the best, bar none, run don't walk to your store or online and get this bought anyway you can. (Mines on a credit card) Just do it. You'll have a friend for life and you can quit searching and start playing. I'm just a living room player, but after this experience, I'm probably gonna start gigging again. Oh yeah, I played it through the Fender Acoustisonic Jr. at the store and the Fishman does not disappoint. The only set-up required was a slight turn of the truss rod to raise the action a bit.

This Acoustic/Electric plays like a dream. It has tremendous sound both unplugged and plugged. Cosmetics are beautiful. I have played many guitars over a 40 year span, and this one beats them all for the price. You will not be disappointed in this fine instrument.

I am a professional guitarist and have played many acoustic guitars in countless sessions. Recently while at a music store on a search for a new guitar I was able to play and listen to a lot of quality instruments over an extended period of time. Price was not an object. Long story short, the Breedlove AD25/SR Plus was what I went home with. I know that this guitar has been discontinued, but if you can find one, buy it.
I've noticed a lot of redundancies in the reviews on most guitar sites. Mostly overinflated 5.0's on almost every product made by the name brands such as Taylor, Martin, and Gibson. I'm going to tell you the truth. These products are spectacular, but after buying this breedlove, and having played literally every guitar in my local guitar shop, you won't be able to tell a difference in this sub-$1000 product and a $4000 Martin, Gibson, or Taylor. One of my good friends just bought a $2000 Taylor. He was extremely excited...until he played this breedlove and realized all the money that he had lost. If you have money to burn, by all means, buy an expensive guitar. If you want everything the mainstream brands offer, for a fraction of a price, buy this guitar.
I got this guitar for my husband's birthday. I considered getting a Taylor 314ce but in the end, decided to go with Breedlove given excellent reviews here. And I have to say the guitar did not fail me (and I had a pretty HIGH expectations). The sound is gorgeous - from the highs to the lows. It's also so warm and round - just the way an acoustic guitar should sound. To me, the sound is better than any other brands, including Taylos... The action, acc to my husband, is as good as it gets for him. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Buy this guitar. You will not go wrong, seriously!
I just got this guitar a week ago and I am very happy with it. It really is as good as all these reviews claim. It's not made in america. It's made in Korea. But it's sent to Breedlove here and checked over. The quality is first rate. Just for the heck of it I tried a high end Guild before my Breedlove arrived and after playing the Breedlove I have to say it wins hands down in almost every catagory. Given the sales price you can't go wrong.
This is the best value in acoustic electic under a grand, period. Amazing sound, sustain, plugged in or not. It just sounds GREAT! I am a believer in Breedlove products from this point forward. Everthing including fit and finish are PERFECT. Buy one even if you don't need another guitar (I didn't, my kids rip on me for buying yet another guitar). This is truly the best value I have ever played under a grand. When I took it out of case and tuned it up I just about quit my day job just to stay home and play. Kidding of course, but yes, this is one quality instrument.
When picked this guitar, I originally was going for either a Gibson or a Taylor at about twice the cost of the Breedlove, when I tried the Breedlove I was sold. Its SO loud for an acoustic guitar too. I traded away my Martin DGXE because it didnt compare and I never played it. This Guitar is Phenomenal
This is a great guitar for the money. I compared it with the Larrivee LV03 series, mid range Taylors, Martins, Gibsons, Takamine, Parkwood, SeaGull and a few others. The BreedLove had one of the best overall tones (not too bassy or too bright) both acoustically and plugged in. Since I will be playing it both ways, this was very important - some guitars can sound great acoustically but the pickups just don't cut it when going direct and others HAVE to be plugged in before you get a good sound... not so with the BreedLove since BOTH are very full, rich sounding. I love the low action (nice since I mainly play electrics and am spoiled I guess) and the guitar is very well made and the inlays, etc. make it a really nice one to look at as well. When testing I first played it unplugged to focus on the overall sound and neck feel, etc. When I plugged it in I set the amp to flat EQ and controlled everything from the 3-band Fishman EQ. The results were very pleasing. And the price is several hundred less than some other guitars I compared it to... why spend more money when the BreedLove can do it all at a great price?!?! I love this guitar.
When I bought this guitar about 6 months ago I was unsure if I should spend $1,000 on 1 guitar, well I am so glad I did. Before I was playing an Ibanez acoustic which was ok but I wanted to get a deep rich sound. I tried out Martins and Taylors but they just didn't match up to the standards that the Breedlove had set. I even liked this model more than the model one step up at $1,600. I would recommend this guitar to anyone.

I have owned this guitar for 2 years now and it is my everyday guitar. Its beautiful sound and body inlays all compliment each other. It plays better and better with time. Love the satin finish on the neck, very easy cord changes. High action but even all the way down but i have never touched it, Breedlove signature. Only con is not very loud unplugged.
