    Breedlove Atlas Series Solo player

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series Solo C350/CMe Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had toyed with the idea of a this guitar and tried one out at a guitar show. When MF ran the discount and a special price, my mind was made up. MF surely sold a ton of these! Mine included a hardside case that is a better case than some top end models. They advertised it with a soft case. The guitar exceeds all expectations. The setup on mine was with the neck relaxed (adjustment backed completely off). The action height was acceptable, but it was a simple and accurate adjustment of just a few parts of a turn, totaling less than 3/4 turn to end with what I like and what Breedlove says is their standard action: 1/16th" at the 14th fret for the 1st string." The tone is very open and "woody". The cut-out feature is great in an open mike bluegrass setting where I am deaf to my own guitar. I play lots of solo and backup riffs but had trouble picking up my feedback even with a boomy guitar. About the only complaint I could come up with is that the back bracing could have been thinned down (scalloped) and made a little lighter. For what I will be using it for it is perfect. The neck appears to me very sturdy and should be stable, the neck angle is where I like it and there is lots of adjustment available for action height. I doubt that it will be used, looking down inside at the bridge arrangement. There is no noticeable bulge below the bridge because of the torsional force from the string tension that goes with conventional bridges. The electronics are more than I expected performance wise, plenty of adjustments for a variety of sound systems and amplifiers. I love the tuner. Thank you MF and Breedlove for making this available to someone like me.
setup ideal for simple individual adjustments, for this price excellent quality. I have seen fret finish not this good on high end american made guitars.

    Sustain!!!

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series Solo C350/CMe Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is truly an amazing guitar. I was absolutely floored by the sound and projection of this guitar. The secret, I believe, lies in the JLD bridge system because I can think of no other reason. I usually select laminate guitars for the road because they are less temperamental and not as likely to warp/crack, etc. Without a doubt, no question, unequivocally, this is the loudest guitar I own. I have a LOUD voice and this guitar is the only guitar I have ever heard that is loud enough to compete with me. This is pretty unusual for a laminate guitar to have such volume. It is not a perceived volume because of the "monitor" hole either. I have other guitars with "monitors" in them as well. I was really taken back by the quality of this guitar. The added depth creates a best of both worlds scenario as you usually lose a little bass with the ceder top. The notes fade to a beautiful harmonic sound at the end of their sustain. This is a lightly made, lightly braced guitar, but it does not "overdrive" with a heavy strum like my Taylors do. Mind you, this is a mahogany/cedar guitar and it is heavy on overtones that blend beautifully. I got turned out to Breedlove while out shopping with a hankering for a Martin 000-18. The American Breedloves I was playing had nicer appointments, a better price tag, better feel, and better sound. As far as their imports are concerned, the fact that all the imports come through their Bend Oregon shop is a big plus. Give this guitar a try, especially if you are in the vicinity of a Taylor 1xx or 2xx series or a Guild GAD. To my ears, there is absolutely no comparison. Breedlove is not as huge as some of the other companies and I kinda hope they stay that way because they are making beautiful instruments that rival top makers at a lower price, with better features, and a great sound.

    Blown away

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series Solo C350/CMe Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been in the market for an acoustic electric for several years. I tried everything under the sun but nothing under 2 grand had that sound. I was convinced I needed spruce and rosewood to get the tones I was looking for. I picked this up on a whim and initially thought the side hole was weird. Then I played it. The first strum blew my mind. It had that sound, in spades! It had all the highs, all the lows, no buzz, no strings that weren't quite as loud as the others, it was perfect. I bought it, on the spot. I got it from another retailer, one I normally won't purchase from, but I had to have it. I haven't put it down and my fingers are finally toughening up. I usually play electrics with 9's so the switch hurts a little, but it is as easy to play as an electric, just heavier guage strings. It is well worth the money and even sounds better to my ear than many 2G+ guitars. Well done Breedlove!

    A surprising guitar

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series Solo C350/CMe Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When I first looked at the guitar I thought, oh a wierd hole in the side. When I was finally talked into playing it, I heard the sound and wondered why all guitars don't have a monitor hole. The guitar was light in weight, but great in sound. The guitar has both a neck and saddle rod for adjustments, smart design. It was the little duckling that turned out to be an awesome swan.
