I LOVE this guitar. The action was a little high but I am going to lower that. Other then that it is my best guitar. I can't put it down once I pick it up.....
Super Low Price....Super Great Guitar
I've owned this guitar now for several months, and I have to say it's a match made in heaven. The day I got it I was planning on getting a dreadnaught cutaway acoustic/electric, but the Breedlove Atlas Studio C250/EO one really caught my eye. And I love ovangkol because of it's balanced sound - it's sounds a lot like rosewood but not as "dark" or "heavy." This guitar sings when fingerpicked, and when strummed/flatpicked it's got a great deep sound, almost like a dreadnaught , mainly due to the body being deeper than most concert models. Plugged in, it's amazing. I play through a 30-watt amp and have never had to turn the volume all the way up yet. And even with the phase off, I have never expirienced feedback. The only reason I gave the overall rating a 4.5 was that the action was rather high, and I have to shave a lot off the saddle to get it low enough for my taste. However, I think it was just my invidual guitar, because all the other Breedloves I have played had perfect action.
I walked into a guitar shop just to play around. I always think Taylor when I am in a guitar shop, but I've been looking at Breedloves lately. While I was scanning the wall for Taylors this beauty caught my eye. I brought it down and started playing it. It has excellent action on the neck and a hearty sound. It played out each chord perfectly. And no one can overlook the amazing look of ovangkol on the guitar and the handy built-in tuner. It sure was hard to put this one down. Great Quality Guitar with great looks....
After a long while of researching features on this wonderful lute as well as nearly 30 others in its price range, I finally decided to pop into a guitar center's acoustic room to do some field testing to finally decide which to buy. i played 100 series and 200 series Taylors, some Martins, some Epiphone Masterbilts, and many others before finally choosing to purchase this guitar. The guitar's electronics are what truly stand out. The L.R. Baggs Element Pro provides warm, natural acoustic tone that doesn't sound as fake or shallow as other pickups. The onboard tuner is EXTREMELY handy and can be used whether you are plugged or unpludded (some Martin onboard tuners required the guitar to be plugged in). And the beauty of the instrument is in its simplicity. The natural gloss shines under lights and the binding gives a little class to the guitar. The neck's satin finish allows your hand to gracefully move up or down without an excessive amount of drag like on guitars with gloss finishes on the neck.My only complaint is that the neck has a little extra girth for my liking however this guitar is still my favorite.
When I was looking at a few guitars in the acoustic room I came across a few guitars that I really liked, but it finally came down to 2 guitars, a martin dsm and this beauty, Breedlove Atlas Studio C250/EO. I had been hell bent on Martin for a long time, but when I played this guitar it just had such an amazing feel to it, the craftsmanship compared to the martins in this price range is second to none, the guitar is super playable, the action is great, the guitar is an eye catcher, and the pictures in the catalog and on the internet do it no justice, you need to see it in person. It comes with light gauge strings on it, and it sounds incredible already, but when I got it, I slapped some mediums on there right away, and oh man, did it sing like a little blue bird. I would advise anybody to get this guitar, for the price you cannot beat it, guitars that cost twice as much have a hard time beating this guitar. The bottom line is that this guitar is SWEET! So get it!
