Compact auditorium size body with solid woods, a graduated top, and LR Baggs electronics.

The Breedlove Cascade OOO/CRe Slotted Peghead 12 Fret Acoustic-Electric Guitar represents stunning value with all solid woods, a graduated top, rosewood binding, mosaic inlay, LR Baggs Element Active VTC, and a deluxe hardshell case.

Breedlove has chosen Western Red Cedar for the OOO/CRe soundboard. This form of cedar is respected for its fine harmonic and dynamic qualities. For the cascade series, Breedlove has given the cedar top a graduated thickness, designed for root-note precision, clarity and focus. Solid rosewood for the back & sides reinforces the natural bass of this auditorium body shape, producing an overall acoustic tone that is extremely well balanced.

    LR Baggs Pickup and Preamp
Plugged in, the LR Baggs Element Active System VTC undersaddle acoustic pickup delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer so the acoustic guitar pickup delivers a robust, lively, and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.

The LR Baggs Element Active System pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes small, removable soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls (VTC) for added convenience and versatility. The system provides excellent string-to-string balance.

Comments about Breedlove Cascade OOO/CRe Slotted Peghead 12 Fret Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've played guitar over 47 years, and also I'm a professional guitar tech. I Apprenticed at the Guitar Hospital under Bryan Galloup 20 + years ago. I've only had the Breedlove Cascade 000 a couple weeks, and I watch for these kind of comments in reviews I read. (people buy something, and naturally they like it, because they bought it) That said, I really like this 12 fret guitar. I'd rate the craftsmanship as excellent. The guitar begs to be finger picked. It also can be lightly strummed and flat picked. It also sound nice in open tunings and bottleneck style. If your looking for a louder guitar then you need a dreadnaught. The 000 tone seems very warm and balanced. The combination of solid Indian rosewood back and sides with western red cedar solid top is surprisingly rich and warm. I've never owned a guitar with a cedar top before and was apprehensive, but I'm very satisfied with the combination. Same can be said for the nato mahogany neck, also equally impressed. Feels good, warm and solid and looks nice. I have a soft spot for split pegheads and the Grover tuners are a perfect addition. So far all I've done is tweek the truss rod a bit. Buttery smooth, somewhere between a Gibson and a PRS. Two of my favorite production line truss rods. The action is nice. I believe it could be a tad lower at the nut and saddle, but before I jump all over this thing, I want to take time to get used to it, then decide giving the guitar and myself some time to settle in. I don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul so to speak. Drop the action 1/64" losing volume and tone to make it play like a Les Paul?? Apples and oranges, you decide??? I don't consider myself an accomplished enough finger style guitarist to make that call yet?? Food for thought. I haven't dug into the electric side of this guitar, but in my experience LR Baggs as Fishman both make high quality transducer pickup systems. It comes with a very nice hard shell case included in the price. I believe Breedlove is discontinuing the Cascade model? These guitars are made in Korea. I also own a Epiphone Wildkat, Korean made. IMO Korean made imports are of excellent quality. If your looking for a affordable priced acoustic guitar 12 fret or other, I recommend you get one of the Breedlove Cascade models before there gone. One last thing, there is a lot of information on the web about the Cascade models. Google and read thoroughly. Good tips, info and reviews from previous owners.

Comments about Breedlove Cascade OOO/CRe Slotted Peghead 12 Fret Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have a few higher end Breedlove guitars and I have always been a fan of the brand. None of mine have a cedar top, so I decided to try on of these and I am thrilled with it. The cedar and rosewood are very nice grade solid woods. The cedar has a nice even tight grain and a beautiful color. The rosewood also has a nice straight grain (quartersawn). And slotted headstocks are so cool! Some people worry that string changes are harder, but after you've done it once or twice, it seems easier to me. The only thing I didn't like about this guitar was the pickguard, and I replaced it with a nice beveled tor-tis guard which looks much nicer than the original. I understand these might be discontinued, so get one while you can.

Guitar was flawless in construction. Many overtones and sympathetic harmonics. D and A strings often resonate uncontollably. Got guitar before the price went back up - great deal. Happy with MF customer service. LR Baggs needs the next level model to have a notch filter and EQ to deal with the harmonics when plugged in. Have to use a EQ on amplifier to control bass tonality runaway.

Great tone and a comfortable neck. I got it at a
price that should be illegal for such a fine
instrument-period. The best I've ever owned,
I've tried Martins and Taylors and all the other
high zoot brands but I was forced back to this,
it wants to be played and helps you to play better-uncanny.

Comments about Breedlove Cascade OOO/CRe Slotted Peghead 12 Fret Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been looking for a decent parlor size guitar for a little while now. I had debate getting a straight-up classical guitar, but in the end I decided I wanted something more versatile. This guitar fits the bill perfectly. I compared this to similar Martin, Taylor, and Gibson models that were in a slightly higher price range (compared to the normal price of this guitar), and this won out handily. For being a small-bodied guitar, the projection on this is amazing. The overall sound is quite balanced. It's not going to give the bass response of a dreadnaught or jumbo, of course, but to me, the sound of this guitar is just what I want it to be.

I was actually fortunate, because I was able to buy this guitar used at a price that is less than half of what it sells for normally, and right afterward the price went back up. So it was an absolute steal. I still think that the normal price is not outrageous for this guitar, because as I mentioned it beats guitars from other manufacturers in its price range.

Unlike other reviewers, I had no problem with the setup. I primarily play electric, and I had no problem with the action on this guitar. Actually, I used it for a Christmas performance the week after I received it because I was so happy with it.

The only con I can think of is that I am very tempted to pick up another guitar from the Cascade line while they are on sale.

I love Cedar tops, not the depth of Mahogany, or the sustain of Spruce, but so well rounded, there is a wholeness to the sound, and I have yet to plug it in! Hard to beat, especially at the sale price...and by the way, what a wonderful neck, great for someone with shorter fingers, like myself. I'll definitely be taking a harder look at Breedloves in the future. Take a look I think you too will be pleasantly surprised.

Let me preface my comments by saying i am a coffee shop performer and play/practice at least 7-10 hours a week. After playing this guitar for 10-15 songs my fingers were sore. The action at the nut was extremely high - making F and Am chords difficult and painful. The sound was not what i wanted either - compared it to my EF500RCCE Masterbilt and the EF500 had better tone with a lot more bass response (and it's actually a smaller guitar with the exact same combination of tone woods). I was not a fan of the pickup or the controls - no detent on blind controls so hard to figure out where you should be volume and tonewise. I bough on sale (1/2 its regular price) and still opted to send it back at my expense. I wouldnt buy one unless I could play and listen to it first hand before purchase - just my 2 cents. On the other hand, build quality was excellent - a real work of art. Plan on a setup though.

This is my dream guitar. It is amazing looking sounding and playing and the pickup is great. They did not cut into the side for the pickup which adds to thehigh quality and makes this guitar a real keeper. I got a great price on a "mint condition" product but this guitar had been banged around already. how can you sell something as mint that is cracked and dinged? I called right away and musiciansfriend gave me a partial refund.i am keeping this guitar forever because it is my dream guitar but quality control is terrible. Customer service was good though.

Comments about Breedlove Cascade OOO/CRe Slotted Peghead 12 Fret Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

for 1/2 the money of the other guitars i was looking at... this sounded better and honestly looks as good also.

a ton of quality sound in a small body.
I tried this out the other day at my local music store.
I was really impressed with the sound. This guitar has really nice volume and a well balanced sound.
I prefer a mellower sounding guitar (read not real bright and heavey on the upper end).
My son plays bass and he was impressed with the low end on this thing.

my only negative comment is that plugged in it was pretty poppy on the up stroke... this could be my playing style... but something to look for.

ok so i also am not a big fan of the high gloss finish... but that is personal.
i personally liked the sound better than anything else in the room other than the Gibson Songwriter...
