Sound is really bright and action was perfect. I own several guitars and this definitely competes with my more expensive guitars sound quality wise.

Comments about Breedlove Passport D/MMe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a beautiful guitar. The fit & finish are flawless. Easily the best guitar I've ever seen at this price. Setup is exactly what I like, a very low action, neck adjusted perfectly, no buzz. I was looking for a nice acoustic/electric on a budget, and this is more than I expected. If this model isn't available anymore, I'd look at the newer Breedlove models at a comparable price, I suspect they are equally as nice.

Comments about Breedlove Passport D/MMe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had wanted a mahogany top guitar for a while and played the Martin DRS1 (sapele top) and Martin D15. Considered the Guild GAD D-125, but was unable to find an example to play. Then I discovered this Breedlove. It has the three things I truly wanted. Solid mahogany top, on board electronics, and satin finish. I played one example at Guitar Center in El Paso and liked it, but did not purchase at that time. I eventually ordered from MF. The guitar that was delivered to me sounds better (even brand new) than either Martin (although I have played a well used DRS1 that was very good and had opened up). I can't wait to get a few years on this one to see how it opens up. Quality and finish are top notch for this price point. Tone is amazing, punchy when played hard, warm when taking it easy. Tuners are beautiful, rustic, and open-geared. Solid, solid guitar. I am more than pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend this instrument to those interested in the same things as I was.
