Just returned a Seagull Rustic entourage back to Guitar Center, there was nothing wrong with it,except I wanted a smaller body guitar to play that would sound and play great.this guitar delivers in spades, its size its perfect, its sounds nice and full and rich without being tinny or too bassy, this guitar is well made and for the money cant be beat,Ive tried Yamahas,Martins,Taylors and Washburn,,this Breedlove D20 beats em all to my ears,,its a keeper..go play one and see!
For the money- the BEST!!! I can not believe this kind of sound is coming out of this kind of money. I played several of the Taylor's and Martin that were even double the money but none compared to the sound of this little guy. Check this baby out.
I was in the market for a small body acoustic and tried the Breedlove D20 FS, Big Baby Taylor, Martin 00X1, Seagull Jumbo mini and the Laguna LD2. I sat there for the better part of 3 hours with all of these lined up playing one after the other. The one I walked out with was the Breedlove D20 FS. Not only did it fit me perfectly, but the sound was much fuller and mature than any of the others. It lacks some of the low end and volume compared to a full size Dread, but not by much. It stays in tune incredibly well, not needing tuning after 3 hours of continuous play. I didn't even have to change the strings (usually this is the first thing I do when I buy a guitar). The gig bag is nothing to write home about. In hindsight I would have preferred to have them deduct the price of it instead of paying the little extra. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone seeking a smaller body guitar with great a great sound.
I have some really nice guitars, but I needed a smaller type guitar..I have had a Big Baby Taylor, a Martin 00x1...which are similar to the size of this Breedlove and around the same price. This guitar blows them away.I was suprised at the sound...big and full for a scaled down "D".the action was great, and it had EXP strings on it so no need to change for now. The workmanship is flawless...the gig bag is perfect......worth every penny....again what a sound for a smaller guitar. Can't put it down.Fits perfect under my arm.
I have played a Taylor 812C semi-professionally for 15 years. I bought this Breedlove this past Christmas and am astounded at the tones and balance. The mid-ranges are fantastic, and the tuning of the instrument is simple and consistent...sounds great!Highly recommended...best guitar for the money, hands down.If you have ever listened to Ian Anderson play acoustic guitar...this is one he would love.
