Rich tone swells from this beautiful dreadnought guitar, built with quality woods and Breedlove's painstaking attention to detail.

Breedlove Passport guitars are designed for ultimate portability without tonal sacrifice. These comfortable, easy-to-play instruments are the perfect choice for the musician on the move.

Built on the popular dreadnought platform, the body width and depth of the Breedlove Passport D200/SMP guitar produce an ideal sound chamber for the mid and upper-mid range frequencies. The sound is balanced and dynamic, with plenty of clarity and projection, so your sound can cut through nearly any mix. Whether strumming on some rhythmic chords, or getting wild on a show-stopping flat pick solo, the dreadnought guitar sound holds its own alongside almost any instrumentation.

The Breedlove Passport acoustic guitar has a solid spruce top that offers rich tone, with lots of presence and clarity, while the maple body adds bold mid-range projection. The bolt-on neck joint creates a sturdy neck with lasting sustain. The rugged mahogany neck and strong rosewood bridge and fretboard add subtleties to the tone, with attention paid to the crispness of the acoustic guitar.

The 25-1/2" scale, 1-11/16" nut width, soft V-neck shape, and 16" fretboard radius aid in providing comfort for intricate finger movements up and down the acoustic guitar's 20 frets. Dressed in a soft satin finish, and featuring chrome hardware, and Grover tuners, this Breedlove guitar sings with luxurious appointments, yet it is offered at a price that won't break the bank.

        Includes Breedlove gig bag.

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

Been playing for around 15 years now and I'm considered an upper-intermediate level player. I play every kind of music. My expertise is improvisation and my personal style of play is mostly lead guitar in a sort of bluegrass/jazz solo picking style similar to my favorite guitarist Jerry Garcia.

I bought this acoustic a year ago as something to take on trips and for practice. Out of all the guitars in the price range this one stood out. I liked the natural wood and no pick guard look. Checked the reviews and couldn't find anything bad written about it. I was very pleased when it arrived. The sound is loud and bright, with bell-like mid to high range. The low end lacks rich bass but is still fairly punchy. This guitar is really suited for picking/soloing but is also fine as a strummer. The action arrived just the way I like it and it stays in tune like a luxury brand. The only gripe I've had is the satin finish, which looks great but creates a fairly noisy rubbing sound which can interfere with your intended sound. Also you'll want to switch out the strings right away.

But all in all this is one of, if not THE best acoustic guitars in that price range and I would strongly recommend it to anybody.

          You won't regret it!

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

I love Breedlove guitars. I'd earlier had a C250 (cedar top) which i traded for a semi-hollow electric, ( bad idea). Upon severely missing that acoustic, I found the D200 SMP. the price was in my budget so I got it. It is a very nice resonant guitar. even sound from lows to highs. One can feel the notes in the sound box and sustain is Breedloves magic. very nice guitar for the money.

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

Love the Breedlove D200. Plays more like a more expensive guitar than what is costs. I had to mill about 3/32" off the saddle to improve playability, but no biggie if your a machinist, my only real complaint. Body is larger and taller than a traditional Dreadnought, so it wouldn't fit in my hard case. The gigbag that come with it is good enough. I think the guitar has been in it once to see how it fits. Plays and sound great. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

I set this guitar up upon delivery...changed the strings, rubbed down the fretboard and lightly polished the frets. Let it hang for 24 hrs. so as to allow it to acclimate before tuning it. Since then I've played it for 12 hrs. over 3 days. Very enjoyable to play and the sound is very consistent. Breedlove must have a tight control over the level of quality for these guitars. It's certainly not a top level Breedlove, but for an entry level import guitar it certainly has a surprising level of quality. I appreciate the thin coat of finish as this allows the wood to sing. This guitar will hang on our living room wall ready to be played on a whim. Time will tell how the wood seasons.

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this after playing one a friend of mine has. I found that this one, like his is a great guitar for the price. It has a phenominal high end, while the bass is a bit weak. That is allright with me. I normally play a tenor guitar, which is known for a vibrant high end. This guitar is constructed very well. There was not any sloppy construction, or excess glue that I can see. (not even using a mirror) It arrived set up exactly how I prefer my setup. String height was perfect. The top is not 100 year old spruce, but it is not bad at all. I have added a clear pickguard as it does not come with one from the factory. All in all it is the best 6 string guitar I own, and I own a gibson classical, and a martin backpacker. This would not compare with a vintage Martin or Gibson, but it beats the pants off of the [*] and [*] models offered by these manufacturers. I can highly reccomend the Breedlove Passport.

I had no intention of buying a guitar when i came across this Breedlove. After playing several other famous-name guitars in the $1500-plus category, I played this Breedlove and was stunned by its volume, bass response, even tone and superb action. It easily outstripped several of the far more expensive guitars. The other guitar players in the room were equally impressed...and surprised. I bought it.

                    Excellent guitar!

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

I first saw Breedlove D200/SMP Passport acoustic guitar in a music store over a year ago.
Its curvy lines and its satin finish caught my eye.
It was love at the first strum.
This is a great guitar in every way, great craftsmanship, great fit and finish and an awesome sound/tone.
If I didnt already have so many guitars I would have paid its regular asking price right then and there.
But still I wanted it; I decided to keep an eye on it for when it goes on sale.
So, finally a year later I picked it up on a good sale.
And am I happy to add it to my arsenal of guitars.
I have many solid-tops and all-solid-wood acoustics but none of them has a maple body.
Just like a Tele, Strat and a Les Paul where they each have their own distinctive sound the same goes for acoustics.
This maple body produces a well-defined low notes, crisp highs and clear mids and it has a good volume.
The soft V-neck is to die for, great for small hands like mine.
And I absolutely love the satin finish on the body and the neck, the neck is fast.
This guitar definitely ranks at the top of this price point and it even competes very well with more expensive guitars.
It also comes with a padded gigbag.

This is my third Breedlove acoustic guitar.
I have the Passport Nylon string with a narrow neck and satin finish body&neck which I also love.
My third breedlove is actually the very first Breedlove I bought which is also a Passport concert model that looks awesome but, the neck is a bit bulky and it doesnt produces the low notes very well like the D200/SMP and it has a much higher price tag.

I am 100% satisfied with the Passport D200/SMP. I LOVE IT!!
Fast and smooth satin finish neck, satin body, simple acoustic guitar but very effective feel and sound/tone.
Top notch. Excellent in every way.
                    Fantactic value.

I wanted a simple, low-cost guitar that I could take with me on road trips, beach, etc. I didn't want to worry about damage or theft on one of my premium instruments for these use cases. This guitar is no frills and simple design but it sounds and plays fantastic for the price. I tried similarly priced ones and sent them back. This Breedlove is a keeper. GREAT, GREAT value guitar!!!

                    from NYC

Comments about Breedlove Passport D200/SMP Acoustic Guitar:

My last guitar was an Epiphone P150 and this is the guitar I decided on after 2 weeks at my local Guitar Center. I went there every day, drove the guys there crazy asking all sorts of silly questions, and demoed everything within my budget ($700). After 2 weeks, the 3 guitars I ultimately narrowed it down to were the Epiphone Masterbilt (Solid Top - 550), Seagull Maritime (All solid wood - 650), and this Breedlove D200/SMP (Solid Top - 300). I did multiple "blind" tests... and kept coming back to the Breedlove because of how efficient the design was...and how FUN FUN FUN it is to play! This Atlas Bridge thing where the strings go right into the bridge with no pins is a very simple design, and I think it is partly why the Breedlove has such great volume. I also like the action on this guitar, its quite easy to play and there is no buzzing anywhere on the fretboard. The sound is probably a bit brighter than both the Epiphone Masterbilt and the Seagull Maritime I played but I like this. The Seagull Maritime probably had a slightly better tone than the Breedlove but I was having a hard time getting used to the wider nut on it (My glove size is Large). Another thing I liked about the Breedlove is that there is little (if any) lacquer on the wood. This adds to the volume but may make maintenance/humidification a bit more important. It also lacks a pick-guard which, again, I think adds to the volume and efficiency, and gives it this pure and simple look, which I also like. So I got the Guitar Center 10 year warranty on this thing and after having seen how much time and effort I put into choosing my next guitar, they told me I had up to 2 months to come back and exchange it for something else. However, I play my Breedlove every single day and haven't had the time to go back and demo anything else! The guitar is made in Korea and while I was a bit apprehensive about its origin at first, I can see how the setup and tune that Breedlove does in Oregon makes a world of difference (when comparing to other, foreign made guitars). I would recommend the Breedlove D200/SMP for intermediate players who are looking for an extremely efficient guitar with strong volume. If I had to characterize this guitar in one word, that word would be "FUN"

I bought it slightly used(condition 1)from musician's friend for 100 dollars cheaper than new. You can't beat that value for a beater guitar. I use this one when I don't want my Martin to get messed up.Pretty good sound, easy playing neck and a quality look. I put a pick guard on mine but it looks okay without one. I got a small amount of fret buzz that a good set up took care of. For the price it is the best I played. I wanted a guitar I didn't have to be extremely careful with but didn't want to sacrifice playability and sound. This one fits the bill perfectly.
