An affordable entry into the Breedlove world of dreadnought style and sound.
- Passport Dreadnought Guitar
The Passport Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar is the launching point to experience Breedlove's distinctively crafted sound in its most affordable dreadnought body shape. Embrace the fun and expression of the guitar on this great sounding, highly playable, attractive acoustic-electric guitar, and you'll discover Breedlove. It's all about distinctively crafted sound, and they've made it available in their Passport Series instruments. Whether you're just learning, rekindling your passion for guitar, or if you're an experienced player in need of an affordable instrument that will inspire you, the Breedlove Passport Dreadnought is a smart choice.
The Breedlove Dreadnought is slightly more rounded than traditional dreadnoughts, producing beautifully full, punchy, and articulate tones. The Dreadnought appeals to players inspired by the familiarity of a dreadnought, who are looking for nuance and richness from their instrument. The Breedlove Dreadnought projects well, so it excels in an ensemble, and yet retains the refinement needed for vocal accompaniment.
Sitka spruce is grown in the Northwest, and has been the primary top wood for USA instruments for many decades. It is strong, light, and gives an extended harmonic content and nearly equals the power of Adirondack.
Back and Sides
Maple is great for standing out among other instruments. With a powerful fundamental and even harmonics, it is clear and present, but without pronounced peaks and valleys in the harmonic content. It's a good choice for many sizes and shapes, and works well for strumming and fingerstyle.
A satin-finished nato mahogany neck makes the neck comfortable and easy to play.
Lustrous full-gloss finish, pinless Breedlove bridge and black binding: an attractive package that will make you proud to play this guitar.
Set-Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon USA
Breedlove's comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play great right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by their expert U.S. quality control team. They start with a visual inspection: they check aesthetic and structural elements of the body and all components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. Based on the results of the play test, they then adjust for maximum playability. Next, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped.
