Classic dreadnought design with Breedlove's special touch.

Breedlove Pursuit Dreadnought Mahogany is ideal or the up-and-coming musician seeking the projection of a full-depth dreadnought, with the midrange punch of sapele.

The Pursuit Dreadnought mahogany captures Breedlove's distinctively crafted sound in an affordable package. With a solid mahogany top, this full-depth dreadnought's back and sides are constructed of sapele, a tonewood with attributes similar to mahogany, making it a versatile instrument that will project well. Delivering a warm, musical tone when played both acoustically and plugged in, you'll want to get your arms around it and immediately begin creating music from the first strum. Includes built-in USB port for easy interfacing with GarageBand and other recording software.

Body Shape
The Breedlove Dreadnought is slightly more rounded than traditional dreadnoughts, producing beautifully full, punchy, and articulate tones. The Dreadnought appeals to players who are looking for nuance and richness from their instrument. The Breedlove Dreadnought projects well so it excels in ensemble environments, and yet retains the refinement needed for vocal accompaniment.

Top Wood
Mahogany is a medium-lightweight wood, ranging in color from light brown to dark. Provides balanced, resonant tone with notable sustain. Thick bottom end, rich midrange, and controlled, warm top end.

Back and Side Wood
Sapele is similar both visually and tonally to dense mahogany, but both darker and harder, giving it a strong visual presence and a bit more upper-harmonic content and low-end clarity. It's a good choice for many sizes and shapes, and works well for strumming and fingerstyle.

Featuring a micro-USB interface for easy recording, the Fishman ISYS-301 USB Preamp System includes a side-mounted preamp with rotary controls for volume, tone (bass/treble), and phase; a Fishman Sonicore pickup; onboard easy-to-read 7-segment LED tuner; and ISYS+ USB combination battery box with 1/4" output and USB jack.

Aesthetic Appointments
Lustrous full-gloss finish, pinless Breedlove bridge and Tortoise binding: an attractive package that will make you proud to play this guitar.

Set-Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon USA
Breedlove's comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play perfectly right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous 25-to-30-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by Breedlove's expert U.S. quality control team. They start with a visual inspection: checking aesthetic and structural elements of the body and components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. Based on the results of the play test, Breedlove's QC team then adjust for maximum playability. Finally, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped.

Lifetime Warranty
Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service and inspiration. New Breedlove instruments, purchased through an authorized Breedlove dealer, are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship throughout the lifetime of the original owner. Comments about Breedlove Pursuit Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After playing about thirty similarly priced guitars I chose this one as being the best for me. First off, do not expect this guitar to play like a $1500.00 axe...it just won't happen. That being said this is a pretty decent guitar. Fit and finish are acceptable, playability is fairly easy, nice action and the intonation is perfect at the 12th fret. Sound is a bit heavy on the low end but not to the point of unpleasant. Projects well. Electronics are good and the tuner is easy to read and accurate. Love the pinless bridge. Breedlove's quality control is evident as I played four others and couldn't find any difference in them. The tuners and gig bag are my only gripes...the tuners feel a little sloppy and I wouldn't trust the gig bag to protect the guitar. If your amplifying I recommend going direct into the PA or through a good amp designed for acoustic-electric guitars.

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my first nice acoustic guitar and I am very happy with it. When I first played one of these I instantly knew this was the guitar I needed to get. To me it had the right playability, sound, look, feel, features, and cost. Its quite unique looking and sounding with the Mahogany top, but that's part of why I love it. It has a very nice, warm, open sound to it when playing. The neck is also super nice as it is a sort of satin feel and a nice profile which both make it super nice feeling. The whole guitar is built super well too; no poor finish spots, no rough fret edges, level frets, intonation is also spot on too.

The only thing I could be nit-picky about is the case. Its nice that its included, but it definitely isn't the nicest gig-bag I've seen included with guitars. But thats really a minor point.

All in all, I am extremely happy with this guitar and will definitely look into another Breedlove guitar in the future.
