Comments about Bristol BM-15 OOO Acoustic Guitar:

Tequila Bob here again. Forgot to mention this in my last post. Face it, if the name on the headstock is more important to you than the sound you're creating you really need to reconsider your goals. This is a GREAT terribly inexpensive little box. You need one. I feel it is a future classic. After almost 50 years of playing and performing I can tell a winner.

Comments about Bristol BM-15 OOO Acoustic Guitar:

A great little guitar. Very light and well-constructed. Set-up (for my style) perfect right out of the box.
Intonation is perfect. Easy playability. Fast neck. Love the satin finish on the neck. Love the sound nice and warm. This much quality is hard to believe at this price. I am glad I got one now before either the price goes up or the quality goes down. I feel that in the future this first run will become a sought after guitar much like the Kalamazoo, Epiphone Olympic and other like instruments that were built as an inexpensive or entry-level model.
    My advice: Get one now!

Comments about Bristol BM-15 OOO Acoustic Guitar:

After 50 years playing, building and repairing fretted instruments, I needed a cheap, durable acoustic to leave at a work place that did not have humidity control; it had to be able to take the extremely dry winters of the northeast US without cracking or caved tops. So after a lot of research, I purchased the Bristol BM15 (actually I purchased 2, more on that later).
When it arrived, it came out of the box set up pretty well. The truss rod adjustment was nearly perfect, the action was medium low (easy to play) and the nut was actually cut nicely. I carefully looked for any imperfections in the finish (thin polyurethane satin finish) and did not spot any. The seams of the guitar were tight without any irregularities; the bridge properly placed for intonation and centering the strings on the neck. The inside of the instrument was cleanly glued without any blobs or gaps. The fretwork was clean and nicely finished at the end of each fret. The guitar was well put together with good quality control. The guitar came with D'Addario Phosphor Bronze EXP strings (coated).
Now to the sound. This is an all laminated mahogany wood instrument and does not have the sound of an Martin 000-15 (all solid mahogany). With that disclaimer of the way, the guitar tone was very pleasing. The bass notes were full, the mids were clear and the trebles had a nice amount of ring to them. The strings sounded very balanced in volume from string to string. The voice of the guitar was not huge, you won't be commanding a bluegrass jam with this guitar, but it can keep up with a singer easily, even one with a big voice. I liked the guitar so much, that I purchased a second one for my wife for her to use at her work place. Amazingly, the second one came set up just as nice as the first one (good QC)! The Martins stay at home and at gigs, and the Bristols stay where they can deal with uncertain changes in humidity. A durable, nice sounding/playing instrument.
