Comments about Charvel SoCal SC1-2H Electric Guitar:

I have played lead for just 30 yrs now. I have several high end Ibanez's and Fender Strats, and a couple of late 80's Charvels. Always loved their necks.

This new SoCal plays as good as guitars costing 3x as much. It rings like a bell. I played it for at least 30 minutes before hooking it into an amp. Sings for days. These Distortion PU's are the BEST set of humbuckers I have ever heard. BUY THIS GUITAR YOU WONT REGRET IT A BIT!!!

Comments about Charvel SoCal SC1-2H Electric Guitar:

I researched about a dozen or so guitars before I knew exactly what I wanted to blow my tax return on. This guitar had everything that I was looking for, in looks and features. Knowing that Charvel is owned by Fender, helped a lot in making up my mind, having played numerous Strats, and owning one. Once I received it in the mail, I pulled it out of the box and was immediately pleased with the fit and finish, playability, and the tone of the SD pickups. Quickly became my favorite guitar. The one and only complaint I have, is the location of the truss rod adjustment, being on the heel of the neck, which means I'll have to remove the neck to make any adjustments. Other than that, it's the perfect guitar for me.

Comments about Charvel SoCal SC1-2H Electric Guitar:

I own the previous version of the SoCal, so I compared them side by side for this review. First off the SoCal is a great VALUE in either version. Plays great, looks great and sounds great. Fit and finish are better than I expected with the change of manufacturing. The two most obvious changes you will see are the reccessed Floyd in the new version and the Seymour Duncans replacing the Dimarzio PUPS. While I prefer SD 99% of the time these SD's are as vanilla as you can get. The old versions PUPS were better IMHO. I will most likely upgrade the PUPS and do what Fender/Charvel Should do at the factory.....add a coil tap. If it came with the Hardshell case and better PUPS I'd give it 5-stars.
