Comments about Charvel Pro Mod Wild Card #6 Electric Guitar:
I collect Charvels and have done so since 1981. I have USA made and japanese made from the origonal Charvel years and on throught the 2000 era. I have some custom shops and a pre pro, so I have had some experience with these guitars.
The Wild Card 6 is a new move for Charvel and a good one. I was very happy to see these available through musicians friend, whom I've dealt with for over 20 yrs. The Wild Card 6 is a capable instrument for any style of music you want to play. It is a hardtail (no tremolo system), but this does not limit the guitar. In fact, the sustain is amazing. The JB bridge pickup matches the alder body very well. Very fat rythm and scorching lead sounds. The Duncan single coil at the neck gives you the oportunity to play some very smooth blues, or some slick jazz. You can even get some twang out of the JB if you back off the volume and play through a good clean amp. I use a Marshall stack for distortion and either a fender super reverb or a 65 delux for clean tones.
The neck is a dream. It is not unfinished like the USA Charvel guitars, which made them unique, but it has a very thin satin finish that does not slow you down.
The tangerine finish of the body and headstock are perfect. The Zebra JB pickup also adds to the look, along with the creme logo, which replicates the USA logo.
I have played guitar for 30+ years. I gigged in the 80s and early 90s and have always enjoyed Charvel over the years. This is no exception. For the money, this is a steal. I have posted a youtube demo vid on this (Gary T. tests Charvel Wildcard No. 6). So you can check it out for sound and looks.
Alder body, Ebony fretboard, two Seymor Duncan pickups (H-S). Hardtail. Matching headstock
Just like the old Japanese Charvels. Great band for the buck.
Good value for the money
