Charvel

Modified for higher performance.

Part of Charvel's Production-Mod Series, the San Dimas Style 1 HH is jam-packed with high-performance specs and mods. The 25-1/2" scale alder body is crafted into the ultra-comfortable San Dimas shape and is mated to a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck. The compound radius (12"-16") fretboard is fleet and sweet for chording on the low end and extreme bending in the upper range of its 22 jumbo frets. The So-Cal is powered by a Seymour Duncan '59 SH1N neck humbucker and a Seymour Duncan JB TB4 bridge humbucker. Just as Eddie established in the '80s, all you need is a volume knob to control this beast. Grover Mini Rotomatics tuners and Floyd Rose FRTO2000 double-locking tremolo maintain rock solid tuning even after the most vigorous whammy-workout. The molded, rectangular SKB hardshell case with TSA-approved latches is ready to handle the rigors of the road (or the air).

Seymour Duncan JB TB4 bridge humbucker
The archetype hot-rodded humbucker for over 30 years. Great for everything from heavy blues to heavy metal. The world's most popular humbucker. Provides slammin' output while retaining singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion. Goes from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll.

Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N neck humbucker

This versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker is great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. It produces a late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound with warm and crystalline clean tones, full and bright distorted tones, and smooth sustain.

Features:

I just picked up my snow white san dimas three days ago and I couldn't be more satisfied.  I have owned many high end guitars and this is equal if not better than them and at a fraction of the cost.  The Duncan pickups sound great together and the 12 to 16 neck radius is really awesome.  A tone control would have been nice though.  When I picked this up at my local dealer, he informed me that these Charvels are the last batch from Japan.  Rumor has it that the new charvels will be made somewhere not named Japan or U.S.A!  You know what that means!   So pick one up fast because you never know if you will have a chance to buy such a great guitar at a reasonable price.

Quality:

These Charvels use top notch materials like:  Seymour Duncan pickups, Grover tuners, and a real Floyd Rose.  What else can I say!

Value:

If rumor holds true that these are only available while supplies last than this guitars value will just go through the roof.  Dont be surprised if in a couple of years you have people scrambling to find a guitar of this quality and detail for such a great price.

Overall:

I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a well rounded guitar.  You can use this for any genre.  Add a coil tap to the volume and you will have even more options!

Do you want to ROCK!?

Features:

If so, this is the guitar for you.  And by ROCK I mean 80's style, spandex wearing, whammy bar riding, Marshall melting, bombastic ROCK!

This guitar is a total time machine for me and Charvel got it right.  Great performance at a great price.

Quality:

Overall the guitar rivals the quality of my made in the USA strats.  The most important thing to me is the feel of the neck.  The Charvel's neck feels amazing and the fretwork is great right out of the box.

I drop a few points on quality because they failed to put the Floyd Rose Nut's string clamp pads on at the factory.  I called MusiciansFriend and they mailed me the parts fast.

Value:

You just can't find a guitar with this kind of quality and features at this price.  Fender/Charvel got this one 100% right.

Overall:

If you like this style of music then you will LOVE this guitar.

Features:

For an electric super strat this has the features expected....great trem, seymour duncans, no tone and one volume knob....each feature is extremely well executed and the neck treatment is lovely. The pickups sound beautiful for what they are meant for....in a cover band, i try to use "correct" instruments....for instance, I would use a Les Paul on "Rocky Mountain Way" or maybe a P90 Jr....not a Charvel super strat....but when you hit the Van Halens and maybe the Poisons, Twisted Sisters and Dokkens, then I think that is where the Charvel wants to come out and play. Maybe some non-iconic heavier tunes...

Quality:

the quality on this instrument is superlative.....it cannot be executed any better. I'm very very impressed with the out of box experience and the playability....amazed actually!

Value:

astonishing instrument for the price. I don't care where it comes from, the build and quality and attention to detail at this price is unbeatable....very very very impressed. I own plenty of guitars and have bought plenty new and played for many years....this instrument is unquestionable

Overall:

I work for a consumer music company....but am in no way related to fender jackson or charvel on any way....but I strive for this kind of attention to detail, quality and experience with the products I work on.

If every specimen is like mine, I cannot imagine any owner not feeling the same way. I love this guitar so much that I keep it in its case at all times...take out once a week for a little practice...clean it and put it back. No gigs for this guy, too precious.

I'm having a love affair...with my guitar!!!

Features:

As simple as you are giong to get with a floyd rose equipped intrument.

Quality:

I was expecting a bit more quality in this price range (the tuners are a bit funky, the paint is kind of thin and the pickups don't adjust) but all in all the guitar is still amazing!!

Value:

Think I will have this guitar for the rest of my life!!!

Overall:

I have a Les paul, a Strat and an ESP Eclips, this guitar is now my number one! The pickups sound great dirty or clean and the pickup hight is not really an issue. The floyde is nice but one of the harder ones I've ever worked with...the quality with the tuning keys and floyd rose is just not what it used to be back in the 80's or 90's.... but they still do what they are supposed to do! Now the neck on this thing is un-real!!! It's like nothing out there...blows away any Ibanez or cheap ESP!! I've had them all and I can say that this neck is truly unique...smooth flat radius, perfect size, broken in feel, it practically plays its self.  Got mine in black, added a EVH drop-D tuna.....ready to blast a hole in the roof!!!!

You are getting real Seymour Duncans, real Floyd Rose, quartersawn maple neck, beautiful jumbo frets, and the best feeling neck I have ever felt.  I have been playing all of my life and have played professionally for years.  The guitar not only has the slinky, pop for which strats are known when the pickup selector switch is in the middle position, but it has plently of bite on the bridge and plenty of lush tone on the neck.  The neck is the perfect balance between strat and shred.  It is ultra-fast and the edges are rolled off beautifully.  This guitar is the same as the US series.  I own both.  Buy it now, these are the best.
